So we ended up getting valspar 'clear protector' for faux finishes. It's a gloss finish and very shiny.
It's been drying for 48hrs and still not rock solid. It's a little sticky, and like you mentioned, I'm sure if I were to stick my fingernail into it, it'd make a mark. It's a lot less sticky than yesterday, though, so I'm hopeful it'll keep getting better.
Sorry I haven't found the magic bullet for you!
