...which is pretty sweet, but kind of annoying at the same time. Since I've gotten pregnant I've gone up a cup size. A few months ago I bought some new bras that worked great until about a week or so ago. I guess I'm getting even bigger because I keep popping out all the time. LOL. It's quite uncomfortable and painful sometimes since they are already pretty sore.
What did/do you wear during pregnancy? Am I going to have to keep buying new bras or is there something I can buy that will kind of stretch if I continue to get bigger? I don't want a sports bra or anything like that. I want support and some padding. Is there a bra out there specifically for pregnant women? Any suggestions ladies?
Re: My boobs are getting pretty big
I think mine went up a cup size but I really needed new bras and hadnt been measured recently. I bought new bras around week 12 (went to Nordstrom and got fitted after going to Kohls and buying my own bras--- BIG mistake-- I ended up with a welt on my back that killed). The only problem I've had is my bump started right from my boobs from day one and hurts after a while...
I have not figured out nursing bras yet.
LOL! Same here. Mine didn't get any bigger. I knew I should have taken a picture when they were engorged though. Ah, those were the 3 days :P Both of my sisters kept their boobs after the first child, but lost them again after the second. I'm screwed if I lose anymore!
Thanks for noticing. hahaha
Why couldn't you wear underwire? Are you not supposed to wear them while nursing or something?
Bump post MA&CB??? What are YOU doing on the bump? Did I miss something???
You missed the bump post, but I am not on The bump, no no no!
You're not supposed to wear underwire when you're nursing (at least at first when you're pretty full) because it can cause plugged ducts. I found once my supply regulated though, that I could wear it without a problem though.
LOL!!! Sorry MA & CB. I was thinking you were all in cahoots on thebump.com for a birth month board. Here I go spreading rumors. Sorry again!!!
I was told I had the Great Plains of America.
My childhood doctor told me one year around 16 years old that she thought by the feeling of my breast tissue (during an annual exam) she thought I had some more growing to do. 2 years later she said, "Remember when I said you might grow some more? I think I was wrong." Ha ha ha!
I was happy to fill out my A cup bras quite nicely while I was pregnant and then nursing. I thought I might have even been able to hang in a B. They are now right back to where they were if not a little smaller and/or softer.
I second the recommendation to look into nursing bras. If you plan to nurse, you'll want them, so if you have to spend the money, you might as well get the most bang for your buck now.

I went from a 34B to a 36 D or DD.
I bought a lot of cheaper bras during pregnancy (I was growing quick) and some expensive ones for nursing.
This is what I did as well. I waited until I hit 3rd trimester to start buying nursing bra's as my boobs got ginormous, and didn't want to spend the money on something nice, to not fit into them later.
So, I'm terrified of pregnancy for this reason. My starting size is 34DD!
I should have just stopped reading this after the first post. Huge(r) boobs is almost reason enough to convince me not to get pregnant. I already wear a size that has to be special-ordered. I can't even imagine them getting bigger.
On the other hand, it may be my fault since I was completely flat until I was, like, 15 and hoped for boobs every night so that people would stop harassing me. Those were the days...
I'm still wearing my regular bras.
For the amount of nausea I've had, I feel like I at least deserve a cup size or two.
Watch, in a month I'll be eating my words.
I noticed in your baby bump pic that they were getting pretty big - I wasn't going to say anything, but since you brought it up...
So excited to meet Peanut this fall!

I went from a 36D to 42+++DD. I stopped buying bigger bras at 42DD (the second round of all new bras I bought), and settled for the band extenders, so I lost count of how high that number actually went. I attempted to buy cheaper bras at each step - having to settle for sports bras along the way (although needed to increase the size of them twice as well!). Underwires used to be my saving grace, but then began digging in too badly and now the thought of an underwire makes me want to puke - breastfeeding isn't exactly going smoothly for us.
I now wear nursing tanks around the clock, but the nursing bras I have are 38DD. I never would have been able to find the right size during pregnancy, since my rib cage expanded sooo much.
