do bush (?) beans taste different than pole (?) beans?
I think that's what they're called - bush beans, pole beans. Apparently this year we planted the kind that grow in a bush rather than climb a trellis. They're not as green as what I'm used to growing, but they look the same otherwise. Picked my first batch tonight and will make them tomorrow, but wondered what they'll taste like. Any thoughts?

Re: do bush (?) beans taste different than pole (?) beans?
I can't really tell a different & I'm growing both this year.
note that it is possible for different varieties of pole beans could taste different than each other (and same is true of bush beans). but I'm growing 4 different types (2 bush/2 pole) and can't tell a difference b/w any of them.
Different varieties of beans taste different, but I don't think it's a general pole vs. bush thing.
And like a fool, I believed the back of my seed package when it said my beans wouldn't need staking, that the plants would only get to be about 4 feet tall. We're at 7 feet with no signs of stopping.
holy crap! I've never had beans get that big. Ours are staked, but for now they don't need it. well, the pole beans do...but that's it.
