Re: first bday ideas for winter time
Do you have any idea of what you are looking for at all - budget, location, colors. Do you want a theme? What does your baby enjoy?
I was thinking of animals, she loves them, not too much cash since I am SAHM and we are trying to safe, happy bright colors and I was thinking of a cake shaped like an animal.
I think Winter ONEderland is cute for a winter bday...or..

This link has a ton of parties by theme, you could prob get good inspiration from...
If you wanted to do a Jungle theme, I jsut saw somehitng where they had banana flavored things (monkeys), and there are a lot of options for colors...

I also saw this bright color/girlie Elmo party that was cute, you can hand make a lot of the stuff, and bviously you dont have to make all of it!

For DDs 1st bday, we did The Very Hungry Caterpillar, used lots of colors, food was simple, we did the food from the book (fruit salad, reg salad, sausages and pickles basically) and a cupcake cake shaped like a caterpillar. (easy and reasonable) I also had a caterpillar banner made of green paper circles w a pic from each month...cute/simple
For food we did soup and sandwiches for DS- potato soup, white bean turkey chili, and sloppy joes. I'm pretty sure I also did a 7 layer salad. It was cheap and everything was a make ahead.
Winter ONEderland is an adorable idea. Snow, penguins, polar bears, I love it.
