So my friend had a baby boy last week. We hope to see them this weekend and I have a gift for the new baby, but she has an almost four year old boy, too. Just thinking that maybe I should get big brother a little something. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I'm a fan of art supplies, so I'd do finger paints or one of the cool Crayola craft kits.

I really like art supplies idea. I would stay away from really messy ones for now since they have a new LO and a little boy with finger paints could be dangerous! That new glow in the dark sidewalk chalk looks really cool from the commerci too!

I like the idea of art supplies. I would try to select something he can do unsupervised. Nathan was almost 4 when Mikayla was born. I thought 2 was way more work than double one. If you can give a gift that occupies the big brother for even half an hour, you will be helping your friend so much.

Doesn't it?!  We have a big box of sidewalk chalk to occupy the kiddos at our parties, but it's not glowy.    I think we're deprived.

It would be nice for the big brother to get something too. I'm thinking Color Wonder. I don't know what the minimum age is, but I think a 4 year old should be able to do it.

This is what I was thinking. He can sit there for hours just coloring away without any worry that it's going to end up on furniture, walls, body parts, etc.
