Re: Thankful Thursday
I am thankful that DH is coming home tonight from a business trip. This single parent thing is hard.
I am also thankful that tomorrow is Friday.
I am thankful that in the midst of a corporate restructuring where my group was moved from one business unit to another, I somehow ended up with a smal raise when we were told that wasn't going to be part of the package. (I am assuming it's my boss's way of making up to me because he couldn't push through a promotion this year?)
I"m thankful for a cooler day, and for the hour of quiet at work this morning before anyone else in my group showed up.
Mostly? that tomorrow is Friday (duh) and I can work from home. This has been a hellacious week here (close to tears kind of hellacious) due to petty jealousy and landgrabbing, and I dislike that I take it so personally.
Thankful that there is a great band playing at Herndon's Firday Night Live tomorrow night and I plan to drink and dance the week away!
Thankful that my daughter's stomach issues seem to be under control, and that my friend with Lyme disease found a dr she's happy with and is on stronger antiobiotics that seem to be helping her pain.
Thankful that my new niece is off her feeding tube (stupid brother was not forthcoming with details but apparently Isabelle was in a bili blanket and had a tube down her throat... and we only knew this bc of FB pictures -- WTH, brother?!!!!)
Thankful that I will spend a(nother) week with my sister in CA in September, helping her (her H will be way and she trains horses all day so I can cook and clean for her). And then every night we can drink a bottle of wine and crack ourselves up. (If you're my FB friend, you may have seen some of the more inane threads bw just the two of us.)
Today, most of all, thankful that my dear friend DMuppet is starting such an exciting new venture and that I get to help her celebrate!
"What is a week-end?"
I am thankful to be able to wear jeans and a (nice) tank top to work today. I've been dressed up all week in a super casual office and got sick of the heels rather quickly now that I'm not wearing them to court every day.
Stand up for something you believe in.
i am thankful that today is my friday and i won't be back at work until next tuesday, i desperately need to get the fvck out of this place for a few days
i am thankful that i get to hang out with my mom, gram, and friends in MA this weekend
nerd alert: i am thankful that my mom & gram are almost as excited as DH & i about seeing harry potter tomorrow
-that I have tomorrow off and DH told me to go "Pretty Woman" with his credit card (although it's actually our credit card) to find a dress to wear for a wedding on Saturday.
-That my dad is so handy and is helping my unhandy DH with a project. I think the project is stupid and my annoyance is growing deeper, but at least my dad is a good project manager and generally knows how to put things together.
-That I will be in Key West this time next week!!!!!
I am thankful that tonight I get to sample lots of fun beer tonight while I wander around the zoo.... and that it is a picture perfect weather day.
I'm thankful that I have a weekend of no plans or responsibilities on the horizon and that the weather looks great so I'll get a couple of good hours to lounge at the pool...
I'm thankful that I'm getting my hair cut and colored today. This is much-needed.
I'm thankful that in one week I will be on vacation!!!!
I am thankful for this totally awesome weather.
I am thankful that tomorrow I am leaving for a girls' weekend at the beach until Monday morning. I love my kids but getting away is certainly nice. DH goes away the next weekend but hopefully we have awesome weather again and I can take them fun places.
I am thankful that I am getting out of work early today for a much needed mani/pedi.
I am thankful my home hair dyeing epriment last night didn't turn out to be cry worthy. It is certainly way darker than I thought it would be but I think I can get used it to it and just go one shade lighter next time and be happier with the results.
That I only have one more day of work until VACATION! We're heading up to Maine as usual (where it will be 75 degrees and sunny, btw), but this year it's going to be even more fun. My BFF is coming in from CA, and another close friend is coming, plus DH, DS, and my brother.
I know some people would probably not be that excited about their sibling coming on vacation with them but I'm really looking forward to it. Plus he's driving an extra car so we won't all be packed into our Outback. AND, there will be 2+ cases of wine coming with us. And we're trying a new s'mores recipe every night!

I'm thankful that everyone been so supportive of my leaving work. It's so nice to leave with an ample amount of time to tie things up well, and to be welcomed back to visit.
I'm thankful that I've had closure here and I was recognized by dozens of colleagues and especially by my direct boss. I'm thankful I get to Facebook "friend" her now.
I'm thankful my thank-you cards were appreciated by my boss and colleagues. To acknowledge others for what you love about them and for what they've done for you is so simple but powerful. Let people know.
I'm thankful that I won't have to get up at 5 a.m. on a daily basis ever again unless the reason calls me "Mommy."
And finally, I'm thankful for my husband and friends (several very supportive Nesties included) who I couldn't have done this without, and who will be celebrating with me! Hooray!
Cute reference! I don't like the song much but it's on the "Go" soundtrack, which I highly recommend!
Thankful that tests show FIL only needs one major organ transplant (uh, heart), not two. Hey, it's the little things at this point.
Thankful for my birthday weekend and the day off on Monday! I ruined hubz's surprise of taking me to the new Serendipity3, but whatever. I'm still going!
Thankful for the birth of my new baby cousin! Since I don't have siblings, this is practically my niece.
I'm stoked.

I am thankful that today is my Friday and I can go to happy hour tonight and have as many drinks as I want.
Like a lot of others, I'm thankful for vacation starting this weekend. I think this is the most I've ever needed to get away.
I'm thankful for all of the prayers and support from my church and friends after the passing of my grandma. I'm also thankful for the time I had with my family, even though I went out for a sad occasion. And thank goodness travel went smoothly and my bag showed up in the same place and in one piece (one of my biggest fears when flying).

dmuppet - I am so excited for your newest professional adventure! You are an inspiration. I am also crossing my fingers that you will be waking up at 5 a.m. sooner rather than later.
For me, I am thankful that I work for an organization I am passionate about with other people who care just as deeply as I do. I am also thankful that I had time earlier this week to reconnect with my work peers and set some priorities with them.
Personally, I am thankful that LO is still only waking up once per night and that he's a giggle-box right now. Last night he woke up from a short nap and just laughed hysterically at me for 5 minutes. I am not quite sure what I did, but he loved it.
I am grateful for every day I get a covered parking space, so I can drive home in a car, and not a mobile sweat lodge.
I am also grateful that DS's grandparents dote on him and come visit often. (I actually wrote "come visit awesome". That too.)
I am thankful that tomorrow's Friday, and that we're going to the beach Saturday!
yay!
I am thankful that I'll be able to go to MI in a few weeks for my BFF's kid's 1st birthday. I can't wait.
I'm thankful that my FIL is coming to the U.S. in less than 2 weeks, and staying until September.
I'm thankful that I didn't have any meetings last Friday, and was able to leave the office mid-day for my nephew's birth. I got there just in time (10 minutes to spare before cutting) for the emergency c-section, so my BIL was able to go in the OR.
I'm thankful that I'm actually enjoying this summer, instead of being cooped up in the house on crutches.
