Netflix...will you keep it?
Now that Netflix has announced that they will change their plans/increase their rates, do you plan to keep using it? Right now Jason and I pay $9.99/mo for unlimited streaming and 1 DVD at a time. With their new plans starting September 1st for current customers, it'll cost $7.99 for streaming and $7.99 for 1 DVD, which changes our bill to $15.98/mo. I think we're going to cancel. I know an extra $6/mo isn't that big of a deal, but we've been debating canceling it for a while now because we don't use it much and take too long to watch and return the DVDs, so them raising their prices was what finally confirmed it to us.
So what do you plan on doing? Are you going to cancel? Are you going to change your plan to only streaming or only DVD's? Or are you not a cheapo like me and will continue your regular service despite the extra cost?

Re: Netflix...will you keep it?
I'm so sick of them jacking up the prices its crazy, and how they say "We realize you have many choices for home entertainment, and we thank you for your business" Really?!?! then stop jacking the price up a-holes when we first signed up we had 3 movies at a time for about 17-18 a month. Then they did the last increase because of the streaming so we downed to 1 movie+blu-ray + the streaming (which kinda sucks here cause Comcast internet sucks) for about 13.00 a month now were going to be paying 18 again...WTF??!?!
I said I wanted to cancel it we can do hulu plus or something else and get movies from redbox...but we talked it out and deiced the next price increase was going to reason for canceling it, once were paying 20.00 a month.
I really want to write them some hate mail and find out what there doing with all the money there already getting.
wow sorry girls just went off on that!
Im still a little pissed at the email i guess!
We both have our own accounts right now, which is crazy, I know, but he had a giant queue of things he wanted to see, and I had a giant queue, so we just kept them when he moved in. I think we're going to close one and make one streaming plus 1 or 2 blue rays.
If they would add more things to the streamer, I would just do that. But out of the 25+ things in my queue, only 3 have the "play now" option. And the bulk of discs I get are independent movies/documentaries, and I don't think Redbox has the same selection as netflix.
Why Netflix WHY??? ::shakes fists::
We are keeping it for now. We def get our money's worth out of it. I watch more streaming than I do regular tv. I'm a documentary nerd and I have also been catching up on a TON of tv shows that I've never watched (my current obsession is Lost). We mainly use the discs for tv shows that come on premium channels like True Blood and Dexter, etc. So it's still cheaper for us to keep Netflix than to get premium channels, etc.
