B and I are not the neatest, but we're really trying to work on keeping our house clean. Last night we set the kitchen timer for 15 minutes and got the kitchen spotless and some of the living room organized. I figure if we can keep it up, we should be able to get things in order.
What are some things you ladies do to stay organized and keep your place in shape?

Re: House Cleaning Help
I live in a very open loft. If I leave things on the counter my whole home looks messy. Lately I have tried to make sure that I always put all the dishes in the dishwasher after they are dirty. Before I go to bed or leave for work I straighten up the sofa, rearrange pillows, fold blankets. ( I can't lay on a couch without a blanket.) Also making the bed even if it isn't perfect each morning makes me feel better. All the little things add up and make my home feel more organized. As for the bathroom. I use the after shower spray cleaners. It helps keep the shower clean until I can get in there and really scrub everything.
I agree on the 15 minutes thing. It really does help. So when the weekend comes you can enjoy it and not spend a day cleaning up everything.
That is exactly our current problem.
I can't remember the last time I washed my walls!

this is something we struggle with too. we are not lazy by any means, but we just really hate cleaning. and because we have cats, the chore load during the weekdays is a lot as it is... sweeping/vacuuming up cat hair, scooping litter boxes, changing out water/food, etc... we do this at least 4-5 days a week.
I always try to do at least one or two things a night that helps to at least keep things straightened up so that it doesn't get out of control. we try to stick to a bit of a schedule and do it as a team. Sean cooks dinner and I do the dishes (I normally do the previous night's dinner dishes while he cooks), and he normally dusts while I scoop the litter boxes.
and ditto pp on everything having a place. clutter is my biggest nemesis, so I came up with some easy solutions... like buying a magazine holder instead of letting them pile up on the coffee table. I keep all my tealight candles, scentsy bricks, and other smelly stuff in a tote box.
we still spend time cleaning on the weekends, but it's mostly bigger cleaning projects that we just can't get to during the week, like massive loads of laundry, cleaning out the fridge, and scrubbing the bathtub. and we take weekends off so that we don't get burnt out too, so don't feel bad if you need to do that!

Mine get pretty bad considering I have 2 little boys who love to play in dirt then wipe their hands off on the walls when they come in. In all reality I should do them every day but there are just not enough hours in the day to constantly wash and scrub. I do spot washes daily but the big wash comes once a week.
LOL! You're still way more dedicated than I think I'll ever be.
I will say we do dishes every night. I cannot abide waking up to a dirty kitchen.
