Recommend your dentist, please!

We live in Clive (close to Waukee), but as long as it's not super far away, I'm okay with whatever.

Bonus points if they're good with complete fraidy cats, like myself.  Smile

  • We go to Anderson Dental Clinic which is in West Des Moines off of Westown Parkway just west of 22nd/86th street.  They are super nice and very gentle.  My husband teases that he is so scared they almost have to give him gas just for a cleaning and he loves it there.  Here is their website: http://www.andersondentalgroup.net/, my favorite Dental Hygenist is Alyssa, she is so nice and does a great job.  Both Dr. Anderson and Dr. Kouri are great dentists and have a wonderful sense of humor.

  • Dr. Thomas Merfeld is the best dentist I have ever seen.  I have had bad experiences in the past, and he and his staff are completely wonderful!!!  Super friendly, compassionate about those who hate dentists (Embarrassed) and I actually look forward to seeing them.

Here is there info.  They are in Urbandale, on about 75th and Douglas.  In the strip mall with Palmer's.

  • I go to Joe Solinger at Jordan Creek Dentristy on Jordan Creek Pkwy. He's really, really concerned about your comfort and if you flinch at all or if he thinks you might hurt, he stops to ask. They have all kinds of options for comfort and you get to watch movies while they're in your mouth to take your mind off of it.

  • OMG I have the PERFECT dentist.  Yes, I know everyone likes their dentist otherwise they wouldn't go there!  However, with that said, I was forced to change dentists because my dental insurance changed a couple years ago.

I saw a news article on channel 13 about a dental spa and looked up reviews for it. (No, I did not end up going to the dental spa!)  Everyone kept giving stellar reviews for Dr. Edward Fung and there were a few about being sad that he left the spa.  I found out he is at Country Club Dental in West Des Moines http://www.countryclubdental.com/ and have gone to him ever since.  They have the TVs and you pick the channel, he lets you relax your jaw every couple of mins so it doesn't hurt. THE BEST PART: I had a cavity and was super scared about the numbing needle.  They numbed my gums with gel first, and put the numbing stuff in super slow.  I couldn't feel a thing.  I literally called everyone after my appointment and told them to switch their dentist!
