Re: Friday Friday Friday
This week has been a busy and rough one so I'm hoping the weekend will offer a little bit of a break from that, but we will see.
Today I have a half day at work and afterwords I'm going to get blood work done to try to figure out why I'm so lethargic and feel crappy most of the time. I hate needles but strangely I'm looking forward to this so that I can finally figure out what's going on. We'll probably head to my parents house tonight for dinner, maybe go to a local festival going on.
Tomorrow morning we're looking at more houses. I'm pretty unexcited about it because we met with a lender last night and getting a mortgage is going to be a huge PITA because I technically work "part time" even though I put in 70 hrs over a two week period. don't even get me started.... so I feel like house hunting is dangling a carrot in front of me. we just didn't want to cancel with a realtor and figure the more we can get out there to understand the market and see what we like, the better. after that I'm not sure what we'll do - probably clean/relax/etc.
Sunday I'm signed up to run at 10k but am thinking I'm going to switch to the 5k because my energy level has been so low this week that I haven't run since Saturday. I can always do the 10k next year.
blah, sorry my weekend sounds like a debbie downer post. it was a long, tiring and emotionally exhausting week.

Xan-what month is your lease actually up? On of the frustrating things about Chicago apt hunting is that you can't start until like 4-6wks ahead of time; which makes for a time-crunch but is just how it's done!
Becca-good luck with the bloodwork. Eck, I hate needles too! And have fun house hunting!! Btw, how did your b-pics go?

Our plans:
Tonight one of my gf's from hs is coming in town to stay with us; we're having what will *hopefully* be a low key night; having a handful of people over to grill and hang out. We're trying a new homemade marinade and homemade sangria, so I hope it turns out!
This weekend and next week are supposed to be hot hot! Tomrw my friends and I are planning on going downtown to do a little shopping (Nordstroms is having an anniversary sale and I have $75 GC!) and then going to the rooftop pool of the family I nannied/now babysit (they're the best). Friend is meeting up with some of her college friends Sat night for a bday party; so I think H and I will do something low key. (It's 9mo anniversary for 10-16 tmrw!)
Sunday- hopefully get some sun and also watch US in World Cup!

We have Ken's family reunion tomorrow, which normally I don't mind, but this year I am dreading. The rest of his family leaves on the Hawaii trip we decided not to go on. We decided to not go so we could put the money towards the house and move up our baby timeline, but I know they will look at us like we couldn't go because we couldn't afford it. Nope, we were just responsible adults who chose not to put our money towards a second expensive vacation this year. Vent over.
Other than that I don't really have plans. Ken is off on Monday and Tuesday so that will probably be more like our weekend.

B-pics went great! a friend of mine did them for super cheap. I had 4 different outfits - one was a jersey with spandex shorts, the other 3 were more lingerie/victorias secret type things - one black, one pink, one a purple print. Just did like curly/messy hair and dark eyes for makeup.
It took a few hours and I was exhausted by the end. I'm excited to see the pictures though, I'll be sure to share them with you guys ones I get them! Shes just going to make a CD of the photos for me so I can get them printed however I want (I'm thinking of doing a shutterfly book or something depending on how many I like).
DH was asking all these questions and somehow figured out that I'm "making" him something. So he said to me "I know you're a perfectionist so just know I'll love it no matter how good it comes out" and I was thinking DUH you're going to love it. hahaha.

Our lease isn't up until mid December but we have to give our current apartment 60 days notice prior to moving out, so we have to make a final choice of where we're going to move by early October. The place we are viewing fills up pretty fast because it's one of the nicer yet reasonably priced complexes in the area, so when I called to get prices the guy told me to come check it out early and then come back in late September/early October to apply, then they could make sure to hold an apartment for us. I'm confident we'll like the new place but just in case we don't I wanted to start early that way we have plenty of time to view a bunch of different apartments if needed.
this weekend we agreed to go down to our home town and have a "family" dinner with my dad and step-mom before they take off for the trip to Canada. At first it was just gonna be us, then they asked my sisters and then my brother and his wife ( the one who got me that crappy job i got fried from) and I haven't talked to them since that little incident so this should be fun.....not really I was thinking about calling my dad Saturday and telling him I thought i got some bug....just to get out of going....
we have to go grocery shopping sometime this weekend...and maybe will use the groupon i got for the movies this weekend too if we end up canceling on my folks
My cousin turns 16 today, and since her and her mom are in town, we're doing her birthday tonight. I get to do laundry today and run a few errands, bake the birthday cake.
Tomorrow my mom and I are going on what is called the Parade of Homes. Builders show off model homes they've built in the hopes that someone will buy them or employ the contractor to build one to their specifications. It's free, and they do it twice a year, so we go just to look.
I work on Sunday, but after that, Dad's coming out to help me trim some of the bushes around the apartment. I've called the office a few times to come do it, and no one has. Now it's getting difficult to see out the windows, so Dad said he'd come help me do it. I can't wait to be out of this place, but that's another year away.
H and I both took off today since we went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter. TZoday we're going to picnic in the park, but probably won't stay out long because it's extremely hot here!
Saturday we're helping one of my friends/co-workers move to her new place in the morning. Don't really have much planned for the evening so we'll probably jsut stay in and make a really nice dinner.
Sunday we are playing in a double header softball game. We play league on Sundays and we have a make-up game. Of course it's going to be during the hottest part of the day, and right in the middle of the USA Game
We'll probably DVR it and watch it when we get home.
