How is SP going? Good!  Starting to fill up on some parties now.  Just had a party last night, was a ton of fun.

How are the pups? also good!  Ellie's been a stressed out mess with all the storms we've been having.  She's taken to following me around everywhere or hiding under the desk in the office.  Diesel isn't bothered by the storms at all.  He'll stay out in the rain.  Which is awesome (sarcasm) for drying him off and wiping his paws when he comes back in the house

What is the BEST part about your current job? I pretty much make my own schedule.  I work 10-ish hours a day, but depending on when my clients are scheduled, I get to come in late or leave early as I please.

Do you have on nail polish, if so what colors? nope.  My finger nails are almost always naked, and my toes are right now.  An at-home pedi is on my agenda for this weekend.

What is your favorite baked good to make? probably any kind of cupcake (I feel like they are SO easy and so versatile) or sweet breads.  I love having pumpkin or zucchini bread around the house.  Prefect for snacking or a lazy brakfast.

Do you have a tried and true rum cake recipe? nope.  Never tried making rum cake actually...

What are you listening to right now? Just woke up, still in my pjs.  Just listening to the hum of the swamp cooler and I can hear some birds outside the window.

Favorite TV show? That's really tough, I'm getting bored with a lot of my shows these days, I feel like a lot of them are getting redundant with storylines (House, Grey's).  I normally love SYTYCD, but this season isn't that great for me.  So I guess I'd have to go with Chopped or Top Chef.

Favorite pair of undies? (I think I'm cleaning out my drawer this weekend and will be seeking suggestions) I recently replaced all of my undies with the VS Lacie.  They are, BY FAR, the most comfy undies I've ever owned.  As long as they keep making them, I'll keep buying them.  Love.

Are you seeing HP 7.2 this weekend? Yep, tonight at 8:05!!  Can't wait.

Have you read all the HP books? all of them, several times.  Just finished reading the 7th book again.  Really hoping they keep Mrs. Weasley's crowning moment/best line EVER in the movie (to Bellatrix).

What is the best book you have read recently?  Haven't been doing much reading lately, unfortunately.  Just finished Medium Raw by Anthony Bourdain.  It was ok, didn't really grab me.  Took me a long time to finish it.  I can't even remember the last book I read before that.  Probably the best in the relatively recent past have been Garlic and Sapphires.

I just finished my re-read of book 7 last night!

do you think you are critical of other peoples cooking or do you realize that cooking isnt a skill everyone possesses? Not critical AT ALL.  I do judge those that lack VERY basic cooking skills (like boiling pasta and basic sauteeing).  People who don't cook at all like that are just lazy and don't want to learn.  They just want someone to do things for them for the rest of their lives.

what about at restaurants? I've very critical at restaurants, however.  THey are professionals.  Nothing is worse than paying for a meal and thinking to yourself "I could have made this."  We actually go out to eat very little for this reason.  And when we do, we tend to splurge at a nicer restaurants when we know the food will be amazing and totally out of my skill set.

when is Scott going on his elk hunt?  do you have recipes for Elk? In the fall, I think Elk season is in late Sept/early Oct.  I don't have recipes, because last time he went he didn't get anything :)

if you could go on vacation anywhere where would you go? Italy.  I'm dying to go.  In the states, Napa Valley.  Good wine and food are high priorities for me and vacation :)

what is your opinion on the Caylees Law propositions? I think it's slippery.  In theory it sounds like a good idea, but I don't know.  And I think anytime a law is named after someone, it just adds more emotional charge than anything else.

whats your favorite wine? oooh, hard to pick just one.  But if I had to, there's a Spanish Albarino (can't think of the name to save my life, but I'd recognoze the bottle!) that is super crisp and refreshing that I'm loving this summer.

do you think you'll ever move back to St Louis? probably not.  after going back this past weekend and being super miserable in the weather, I think we're spoiled by CO weather now.  And I actually think I get along better with my family 850 miles apart

What's your favorite song right now? The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars ends up stuck in my head a lot here lately.

What turns you on the most about Scott? The least? he has a really great laugh that's just contagious.  And it doesn't take much to make him laugh, he finds humor in anything.  And it's hard to not at least smile when he laughs.  The least?  He's ALWAYS late.  For everything.  I hate it.

What's your worst habit? Biting my nails.  I was very vigilant about it before the wedding, getting mani's every week.  But went right back to biting after the wedding.  I hate it.  Although now I'm not as bad as I used to be.  I used to rip them off way below the quick, my cuticles would bleed.  Now I moreso just bite at them when they are too long, bite them back a little.  Just to olazy to use nail clippers, I suppose...

Do you ever get tired of blogging? yes.  I'm kind of in a slump right now.  We've been really busy and I just don't feel like sitting at the computer.  There's no shortage of new recipes being made in the house, I just don't feel like writing about them.  Hoping to catch up a little this weekend though.

What's your favorite kind of cheese? There's a smoked mozzarella that my farmer's market always has, and I LOVE it.

Can you do a handstand? used to be able to, but honestly haven't tried in ages.  Probably not though.

What's your biggest pet peeve? pepole who are always late (see above).  I've always been a very punctual person, and I feel like people who are always late are just so disrespectful of people's time.

    And, of course...

Would YOU eat a live octopus for $1,000? you know.... I actually think I would.  Not for $1000, no.  But for $1000, there's probably a lot of things I'd eat. Now not live, I'd probably try it without being paid.  Live - I'd need some money.  But yeah, I probably would.

What is the best 100% experimental meal/dish you've ever made? probably the blackened chicken with garlic lime noodles.  The first time I made it, it was based off a recipe.  But the recipe kind of sucked.  So I overheauled it, changed pretty much everything, and now I love it!

A recipe or dish you made that didn't turn out like you thought? ugh, several.  There have been too many recipes that I had high hopes for (from promising sources) that were just meh or flat out bad.

Favorite Local, chain and fast food restaurant?
Local - I can't pick just one.  Toast is our favorite breakfast place.  Angie's is our favorite Italian/take-out place.  Indulge is our favorite fancy place

Chain - probably Ted's Montana Grill.  Amazing food, fun atmosphere.

Fast Food - either Chipotle or Chick-fil-A

Favorite kitchen appliance/item? probably my KitchenAir mixer.  Use it all the time.

Favorite Physical feature and something you would change if you could most of the time I like my hair.  It's unique and wash and wear.  Right now I'd definitely change this pooch belly I seem to be carrying around.  I'd really like to get back to single-digit sizes.

Dream Job? Aside from selling sex toys ;)My own catering business.  Maybe a little cafe someday.

Next remodeling project? we're doing a few small projects this summer, just spiffing up the 3rd bathroom, some landscaping work.  Next big project will be next spring - our gi-normous new deck in the back yard.
