Help me pick!! Clicky poll

DH and I have never been to either of these places. We may or may not participate in the restaurant week menus, we are able to splurge a little so we want to go somewhere nice.

After you vote, suggest a menu item for us to try!

Also, DH should probably wear a tie to either of these locations, right? Or would a nice shirt be acceptable? Jeans?

  • I voted for Oceanaire, because its the only one I've been to, but I thought it was great.  DH was to Fogo for a work thing (vendor paid!) and liked it a lot, but he said you really, really need to bring your appetite to enjoy it.  I think it would just be too much for me.
  • I'm not a red meat eater, so Fogo is not for me.

I absolutely L.O.V.E. Oceanaire. It's my favorite, so I voted for it (obviously).

I don't think a tie is necessary, a nice shirt would be fine. I haven't worn jeans there before, but I've seen people who do. If they're nice jeans (not torn or ratty looking) with a nice shirt, it would be okay.

  • As for food suggestions at Oceanaire, I've never had anything bad there. It's all wonderful.

If they have the Maryland crab cakes on the restaurant week menu (under appetizers), get them. They're amazing. Best crab cakes I've ever had.

ETA: the entrees at Oceanaire don't come with a side, so if you want a side you'll have to order that separately. You won't really need a side with the appetizer, entree and dessert, but if you get one, they're plenty big for 2 people to share. Their mashed potatoes are awesome.

Also, their desserts are great, so definitely save room for those. I had key lime panna cotta last time I was there and it was so yummy. They change out dessert offerings all the time, but they're all wonderful, they have a great pastry chef.

  • Thank you both! Oceanaire was my first choice to begin with.. Smile

  • I also voted Oceanaire. I have been to Fogo many times and it seems like each time we go the quality of the meat is getting worse and worse. I have only been to Oceanaire once (the night we got engaged) and I still tell DH how wonderful the food was there!

  • LOVE Oceanaire.  I like dressing up to go out to places like that - I think jeans look out of place.
  • If you go to Oceannaire, please please please order their creamed corn as a side. It's heaven.

Yes!! The crab cake appetizer and creamed corn are both fantastic and are must-haves in my book.
