I got this one (74 gallon) and finally got it put in about 2 weeks ago. FIL and DH put in a concrete pad to set it on so that is why it took so long.

We didn't install it like the photo shows, we did it as per the instructions in the box, where the downspout actually goes down inside the top of the barrell. It's working wonderfully! We've had 2 heavy rains that filled it completely to the top each time. Each time it was full I was able to water all of my flowers twice (I have a ton of flowers) and still had about 2' of water left in the barrel (i'm short so I couldn't reach down any further).
I'm going to get a submersible pump and if it works to power a sprinkler to do the grass, this might go down as my favorite home improvement to date.
Re: Update & Rave: Collapsible rain barrel
That is super. We have a rain barrel this year and i am loving it. Let me know where and what type of submersible pump you get.
"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab
Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
It is not made for year round use unless, I guess, you are in an area that doesn't get freezing temps. I am, so it will come in late fall and be stored inside.
I think it is much sturdier than I excepted it to be and I dont mind the appearance of it. (You can only see it from our back yard and it is green and blends into the landscaping pretty well).
