DD2 is turning 3 next month, and has been talking about a pirate birthday party for months now. And I have been procrastinating (or haven't had the time, I guess is more like it).
Here's my current idea for invites:
-print off invite wording on regular sheets of paper. Soak printed papers in coffee/coffee grounds and rip/tear or burn the edges to make them look like aged paper, add some dotted lines, and an "x" for x marks the spot, and have it be like a treasure map. Does anyone see any problems with this? or is it not a good idea at all?
I'm open for other ideas. I have a cricut, and originally I thought about finding a cartridge and making little pirates as invites. Another idea that I had today was I was at the Learning Shop, and I found colored pirates, and treasure chests approx. 4", that I could write the invites out on the back.
Anyone have any other ideas for a pirate party (not just invites). I've been searching the internet looking for any ideas I can find!
Thanks for helping a lurker out!
Re: Will this work? and ideas (re: Pirate B-day Party)
The invites sound awesome, but choose a laser printer for printing the invites so the printed portion doesn't run.
Try this search from pinterest. If you need an invite, let me know.

I would probably soak the paper, then print once they're dry, then burn the edges. Give yourself plenty of time for the paper to dry. If you can, hang them so that they won't be sitting in wetness.
I've seen a lot of Pirate stuff all over. Target and Dollar Tree, right off hand, had stuff.
