Is Piper really eating the whole hour or so? Or is she comfort sucking? Carly just likes to suck and when she's done eating, I try to give her a pacifier. It's success rate is 50-50. If she cries, I'll put her back on for a minute or two and then try the paci again and that usually works. Good luck!

Past 24-48 hours have been a major shift in her behavior.
Feedings have backed down to 15-20 minutes, she suddenly likes swaddling, and last night slept in the mamaroo from 11pm - 3:45am and then again from 4:30 until, well, she's still sleeping at 9:04am.
She was drinking for the full amounts, not the entire time, but I'd attempt to unlatch and then you'd hear frantic gulping.
Ummmmm she slept through the night last night from 12:30ish to 6:40am. I'm not sure if I should be grateful or concerned. She's only been awake today for maybe an hour. I've woken her to nurse all 3 times today.
I think I'm coming down with an infection. I have muscle aches all over my upper body from my neck to my hands, and the under-side of my one boob hurts like a major bruise, yet there is no lump.
I called the doctor, and am waiting to have them call me back. They asked if I had a fever, but all I have is an infant rectal thermometer, and that's just not gonna cut it. My mom left work and is buying me one. Hopefully, the nurse calls me back pretty quickly.
Update??? Hope it's not an infection!
Carly sleeps a lot when she's having a growth spurt... maybe that's what Piper is doing!
Well, my mom came over and I took ibuprofen, percocet and took a shower. I called the doctor and scheduled an appointment.
After all that, I feel a million times better. I think the hot water in the shower along with massage helped.
ETA - Euphoria over being clean wore off and I feel cruddy again. I'm definitely going to the doctor at 3:40 tomorrow afternoon.
Definitely Mastitis, my fever spiked to 101.2, antibiotics have been called in, but won't cause any relief for 12-24 hours. I was told to make sure I keep feeding/pumping or it's only going to get worse.
I feel like a puss for crying, but I ache all over.
Im so happy Greg has off tomorrow. Piper has an ortho appointmnt in the morning< i have an appointment for this in the afternoon and Greg has a dentist apt in the evening>
I pray she sleeps through the night tonight< i wont be able to take it
