Cheese Shops?

I am looking for aged mizithra cheese....YUM...like they use at Old Spaghetti Factory!

Re: Cheese Shops?

  • whole foods always has a big selection, but i have no idea if they would have that particular kind.  might be best to call around before driving all over the city or what not.

    i <3 cheese :)

  • Yeah, I would try calling the following places around the city;

    - Whole Foods

    - the O'malia's (well I guess now its a Marsh) downtown off Mass. Ave.

    -Goose the Market

    - Fresh Market

    They all carry stuff you won't typically find in the regular grocery stores. If you are willing to go a little farther a field.... there is Jungle Jims in Cincy and they WILL have it.

     I also <3 cheese!!!!

  • I have never been to Jungle Jims but have always wanted to go.....maybe I can have an excuse for a daytrip. Although my orginal thought is to find it cheaper than at OSF, I bought a half pound there for $5.25, I am assuming I could get it cheaper at a store.

    I have never heard of Goose the Market...where is it?

  • Goose the Market is at 2503 N. Delaware St.  www.goosethemarket.com

    Great cheese and meat shop- and a fun little wine cellar downstairs.  If Chris doesn't have it in stock, he'll special order it to you.  He takes it as a challenge!

  • I will have to check that out...I love grocery stores like that!

    Thanks!

  • I'd also like to second goose the market.  We love going there - there's always something different and new in stock!

  • There is a cheese shop at the fashion mall/keystone at the crossing. It's down by the pottery barn/apple store end.  My French teacher in HS at least said they had the most authentic French bread in town too.
