Debi (MrsDMC) had her baby!

Maddox Randall is here!  He weighs 4lbs, 11oz and is 18 inches long.

She posted the other day that they admitted her into the hospital because her blood pressure was too high.  Well last night it just kept getting higher so they decided to induce her.  She ended up going in for a c-section at around noon today.  She would have been 34 weeks on Monday.

Debi is sleeping but her husband told me that she is fine.  Maddox is in the NICU.  He came out breathing on his own but then would stop.  They think it is because of the medications Debi was on.  So he is on a CPAP, but I guess it is just the little tubes that they stick in your nose.  Travis said it would be 24 hours before the medications leave his system.  But all in all he is doing very well.

I am hoping to talk to her this evening or tomorrow morning so I will update more when I can.

Welcome to the world Maddox!  We can't wait to meet you!

Re: Debi (MrsDMC) had her baby!

  • Yikes, it seems like that all happened so fast. I'm glad to hear they're both ok.

Best wished to Debi and little Maddox! (Adorable name, btw!)

  • Welcome to the world Maddox! I'll be keeping all of them in my thoughts and prayers!
  • Wow- I'm sure that was scary for them, but, I'm very happy to hear that everyone is doing as well as they are! Can't wait to see pics- so excited for them! Welcome little Maddox- happy birthday! :)
  • Welcome to the world little man!
  • I'm sure a nurse can step in here, but at least with adults, I think a CPAP is a mask that goes over your face and has forced oxygen flowing towards you to help you breath. It's a step above the nasal oxygen, but one step below intubation. Glad to hear that everyone is doing okay!

  • Debi and Travis Congrats!  Welcome Mr Maddox.

You all will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.  You have been on our minds ever since I read your post on the hospital.  Im glad you all are doing well.  Again Congrats!!!

  • Congratulations!!  Welcome to the world Maddox!  Here's to a speedy recovery for mama and a short NICU stay for baby!  Keep us posted and I can't wait to see some pics!

  • Oh my goodness!   I haven't been on here much recently, so this is such a surprise to me!!

I'm so relieved and happy to hear that the baby and Debi are both doing fine!  Thanks so much for the update.  And here I thought Debi and I would be delivering around the same time!   :-)

  • Congrats, Debi!  October 18 is a great birthday (it's mine too)!  Welcome, Maddox!  I'm glad both of you are doing well.  I haven't been on in a while, but it sounds like you've had a tough time over the last few months.  Take care and enjoy your little guy.  Big Smile  Looking forward to seeing pics!

Love the name- that's actually the name my younger brother wants to use when he has kids one day (the things you think about when you have older siblings with kids- he is only 17, lol.)  Anyway, after the baseball player, not the Jolie-Pitt kid.  Adorable either way!

  • Congrats, Deb!! :)  Can't wait to meet Maddox...pretty cool that he and Zach are exactly 3 weeks apart!!!! :)

You're right.  I just explained it the way it was explained to me.  But yes, it is forced oxygen.

I talked to Debi last night and Maddox was put on a ventilator.  Hopefully he won't have to be on it very long.

Debi is doing well.  As of last night her BP was still high, though.  She is really in good spirits though and has a great positive attitude.  I'm sure Maddox will be a tough one like his mom!

Oh and I forgot to mention...he has a head full of hair!  Big Smile

I should be talking to Debi again soon, so I will keep you guys posted.

  • Welcome to the world Maddox!

I had my son at 33 weeks because of high blood pressure as well. Hopefully his stay will be short and he'll be home with Mommy and Daddy soon. If she has any questions, please tell her to page me on the preemie board on the nest baby boards.

  • Awww congrats to her. I hope all is ok. Welcome Maddox!
