Domestic Goddess Monday <3
We can swap recipes, talk decorating, talk babies, or just talk about marriage in general. Today is all about us being fabulous!

I don't have any real soup recipes, I only make chicken soup and I kind of throw things in it lol. For the bed I'm not sure if you have a Bob's Furniture around or someplace that has "scratch and dent" you can get really good deals there! Or if you have a Sam's Club or BJ's.

I don't have any good summer soup recipes. I make a lot of chili and chicken noodle soup in the winter.
How do you clean? Do you spend time every night doing a little bit or spend an entire Sunday doing everything?
I feel like all I do is clean the house between washing dishes, laundry, vacuuming and the bathrooms, it is exhausting!
Brandi check IKEA. Their prices aren't bad if you don't want to spend a fortune.
Amanda normally we straighten up here and there but mostly we will take a Sunday and just clean the house. Right now Matt helps. I have no idea what it will be like once I have a baby and I stay home. I would think either just do a little each day or do a good clean once a week or so. I'd like to know what others do too.

I make chicken soup in the crockpot, I throw in a whole chicken with water to cover it with carrots, celery, and leeks and let it cook on low for 6 hours, then i pull the chicken off the bones and let it simmer with either rice or noodles for another hour. I don't have exact measurments, but just make sure you dont put in too many noodles because they expand big time!!
Also I just continually tidy up and will use spray to clean the counters in the kitchen/bathroom almost daily. We have someone come every other week to clean the bathroom, wood floors, dust, and clean the kitchen floors/counters. Well worth it, its really not too expensive and no one has to clean the toilet:) Leaves us more time to spend together on weekends. I do, however, feel like I do laundry 12x a week. Ugh!
Oooo I forgot that I have a good potato soup recipe. Thanks for reminding me ladies.
-5 red potatoes diced
-2 shallots chopped
-2 garlic cloves minced
-salt and pepper to taste
-1.5 to 2 quarts chicken broth (depending on how thick you like it)
-1 can evaporated milk
-1/2 cup cheddar cheese
boil the potatoes in the chicken broth until tender. Take a hand mixer or potato smasher and smash the potatoes to your liking. (I prefer to leave half partly chunky.) In a small pan sautee the garlic & shallots until lightly brown. Add garlic, shallots, evaporated milk, cheese, and salt & pepper. Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes to allow flavors to combine and soup to thicken a bit. Top with your favorites (cheese, bacon, sour cream, etc).
As for cleaning, we straighten daily. But we deep clean on Sundays. It usually takes us about an hour and a half if we each take a floor. I'm sure things will be different once I'm staying at home as well.
I know we are talking food today but I have to show off the pics I made a few weeks ago. I finally got Matt to hang them. Please note we still need to paint and get new furniture.
Okay well I have no idea how to PIP because it doesn't seem to work. Here is the link.

Kelly I love it!! Did you makes those with fabrics?
Thanks ladies!
Michaela I actually just used scrapbooking paper. It ended up being on sale for .50 a sheet. They were very inexpensive to make. I was going to use fabric but I couldn't find a pattern I liked. And then I would have to line it all up. Kind of seemed like a PITA so paper was MUCH easier!
