sorry to bear sad news
I know that, in the grand scheme of things, this won't affect your lives; but please allow me to share it anyway.
Our sweet little Toby--the precious puppy we had had for only a week--passed away on Saturday morning. He had a bacterial infection that attacked his liver--probably something he had before we (and possibly even the shelter) had got him. There was nothing to do but love him and care for him as best we could till the end. He had so immediately endeared himself to us and Pippin (our other puppy) that it really made my heart ache so when he passed.
Before Pippin, it had been a long time since I had pets of my own, and the ones that did pass did so when I wasn't present. This was the first time I actually had to watch one go right in front of me, so I lost it. Needless to say, I was emotionally drained Saturday. I'm doing better today, but I have to make the effort to not relive Saturday morning. I'll thank you now for any thoughts/prayers you may send.

Oh gosh. How terribly said. I'm so sorry.
I know it doesn't make things much easier, but just remember that you gave this little puppy a lot of love that he might not have had otherwise, during his final days.

I'm so sorry! At least he passed with people who loved him. I can't say anything better than what everyone else has said, so I ditto their comments. Hang in there and know you did all that you could.

So sorry for the loss of your pup. I firmly believe that your pup was meant to be with you so he could have a loving happy home in his short time on earth. Someone upstairs made sure he wouldn't be alone and hurting.
