This is really gross, but I have ants taking over my microwave! I live in Florida, so there are bugs everywhere, but I've never had this much trouble getting rid of them. I don't even use the microwave that much, but when I do, I wipe it clean. The ants still come back. I've sprayed a paper towel with ant spray and set it on a plate inside the microwave for a couple days. Still there. I don't want to spray the chemicals right onto the microwave because of possible ingestion/I'm sure it's flammable. I'm at a loss for what to do! Any suggestions?
Re: Help! Ant Problem!
Terro Liquid Ant Bait. You put it on a few pieces of paper where you see ants. In a few hours they will swarm. They'll bring it back to the nest and kill the queen.
It's safe around pets and kids, but I still put it where no one can get to it.
Ditto Terro! We had a few carpenter ants earlier in the summer, and haven't seen them since we put a few Terro traps out (clear plastic, filled with the liquid bait). If only they had one for spiders!
Ants HATE cinnamon. Maybe if you put some in there, they will leave and go somewhere else easier to deal with.
I had some ants come in under the door when we had a really heavy rain a few weeks ago. I ran to the kitchen and brought the cinnamon out and put a line in front of the door where they were coming in. They ran like the raid police was after them. Never saw them again.

Ditto. And when the baby is asleep I bleach them to death and clean the appliances at the same time!
To get rid of them almost instantly, use a bleach spray. I'm sure any kind will work. I used my bathroom bleach cleaner. After that, you can work on getting rid of them for good.
My Grandma used to mix borax and sugar, and they would take it back to the nest. I don't know if it actually worked or not.
