How was house hunting last weekend?! Fun, anything you like, etc?
Re: Becca*
Thanks for asking!! It was fun!! Really exhausting though. We saw a dozen houses on saturday, and about 8 houses the wednesday before that. We realized we didn't like the area the houses on saturday were in (it's further from our jobs), but we liked the areas the wednesday group was in.
There were none that were "it" but it was really helpful to see a ton in order to make a list of "must haves" "like to have" and "bonus if we can find this" We emailed this to our Realtor too, and she added us into a system where we can see all the houses that come on the market.
We don't need to move until the end of the year (lease ends beginning of march 2012) so we have a lot of time, which I'm glad of because we're running into some issues with getting a loan because of the way my job is classified.
I'm really glad we started early so we have time to work through these things and also we get to watch the market now and see the houses that pop up and decide if we want to go see them and such since we have a much better understanding of the overall market and what we're looking for.
Plus we have a relationship with a Realtor now which is helpful because she'll be watching to see if anything comes up in our price range that matches our needs & wants.
It's been fun so far though! It's exciting to think about living in a house with our own walls and a yard!

Sounds fun!! And productive!
This morning on CBS money there was a brief news blip about house nationwide it's expected for the housing market to drop another 2.4% in 2011.
Keep us posted on any exciting news!
Best of luck with the loan information/job classification. My bf from home just got her/her FI's loan amount updated because the bank was having issues with her company and how they classified her job and length of employment. She's been there over a year, but technically she was initially employeed through a 3-party and then hired on by the company after sometime.
