Kids party related: cupcakes

Do you order enough for the parents too?  And on average....do by parents show up?
Why ask why, when you know you're going to get a smart-ass answer

Re: Kids party related: cupcakes

  • I think a lot of this will depend on how old the kids are, what the party is, and how the invite is worded.  It also depends on the relationship with the parents.
  • The childrens age varies from 1-9 years old. I don't anticipate any parent will just drop them off and we aren't very close with most of the parents as we just don't know them yet. Big Smile.  I don't recall eating cake at any recent kids party but maybe that isn't the norm. The cupcakes are rather expensive....which is why I question how many to have on hand.

  • If the parents are staying then you should have something for them.
  • ok thank you!

  • Yes, count the parents as attending. And order something for them as well.
  • If cost is a concern, you could always do a store-bought cheesecake with strawberries for the grown-ups.  And keep the cupcakes for the kiddos.  Just a thought.
  • or give the grown-ups the expensive cupcakes and get the kids a cheap dessert!  j/k ;)

    Hi:

The kids will only eat the icing anyways.

Expect 1 parent per kid to stay, at least of the younger kids, and i would think it would be nice to have a dessert for them.  However, now that I'm thinking about it.  I've seen it both ways.  I like it better when there is cake for the adults too.
