As part of a long interview process, they asked me to create a presentation. At the interview person A said to create a presentation using software x but to email person B for which software to use. So I emailed person B and he suggested by saying, "You could use software y but software z is what everyone uses at the company." (He knew I did not know software y or z.) So which software would you use in this instance for a best impression?
software x is super easy, software y is kind of difficult and software z is most difficult and I didn't know how to use it but I could learn it since I already have it at home.
I already made a choice and did it but now I am doubting myself and wondering if I should have gone with what I know. I decided to do software z because if I got the job that is what I would have to know so I took the initiative to learn it on my own and to see if I *could* do it too. I also wanted to show them that I can learn new things etc. It took a lot more time to do, and I did have to get some help from my DH when I got stuck but I did it. Why do I feel like I made the wrong choice?
Re: opinion-should I have taken the easy way or not?
