I know a couple of you had it removed...did your cost include re-painting?  Or did you have to go back and paint later?

Our cost did not include retexturing and painting (we thought we'd do it ourselves and save some money). However, based on our experience, unless you don't really care what the texture looks like (which we did), I'd highly recommend having at least the retexturing done at the same time (and it's almost certain you'll need to retexture). It would have been cheaper for us to do them at the same time, through the same company. The painting we did ourselves -- that's easy.

Our price included repainting.  It was well worth it, too, because some of our ceilings are very high!

I didn't see/read your first post but I'll chime in anyways

I've arranged removal for a few clients and the retexturing after was usually seperate. It will depend on the contractor. It will need to be done though. Also, be sure it is done properly b/c it was often installed with asbestos and has to be handled as a toxic material. It's been a while since I've had it done but it usually ran about $3-4/SF for removal and retexturing.
