As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. photo editing program rec please!
My birthday is coming up and I would like to ask for a simple program to edit pictures - super basic things like cropping would be great! Any suggestions? Not as important, but may be fun would be a little movie editing program. I would only play around with that too, nothing too costly or fancy! Thanks for your help!

What if it's free, and you should ask for something else for your birthday?
Check out Google's program called Picasa. It does cropping, small blemish correction, color and contrast correction, or different styles - black and white, sepia, soft focus, glow, graduated tint.
It also handles videos - but only changing starting and ending points, nothing fancier than that.
It also organizes everything for you, although I usually change it from its default settings so it organizes stuff in the program in the way I have them organized in folders on my hard drive.
For simple editing, I don't think it can be beat (and it's free!). I've started using Photoshop Elements for photo editing, but it's still over my head with all its capabilities, and it's an $80 or $90 investment.
