s/o weather...

We're talking about avoiding heavy meals on the WFD post, and it made me wonder what the average temperatures are where you live?

Here, summers are warm and humid, so on average I would say 25-30C (77-86F).  Tomorrow is supposed to be 46C (114F), but that's an extreme.

Winters can get as cool as -35C (-31F), but are normally -10 to -15C (14-5F).

  • Here in Tucson are summers are warm and humid too, we have monsoon which makes everything nice and sticky till it rains, and most the time its only rains on one side of the street. but we average around a little over 100 most days in the summer, and some times get up to 110.

but it cools back down at night thats the best part of the desert in the summer we get to be in the mid 70's at night some times cooler!

winter were in the mid 60's during the days and 30's or so at night and some times we get a hard freeze but it doesn't last long same with snow, if it does fall it's mostly in the mountains and most the time is melted by mid morning.

In the winter we're anywhere from the 20's-mid 30's. Of course it's new england...so one day it'll be 35 F and the next it'll be 60 F, and everyone gets sick. It's gross. I think Spring this year was the worst.

In the summer it's usually in the 80's. I love how we're getting alerts and warnings on the news because the temperature is going to break 90F this week. All I can think about is the people south of us who have been in 90 degree heat for a while now, and they're going over 100 degrees F.

Here in Western/Central Maryland, the summer day time average is usually between 88-98.  It seems like early summer it's anywhere from 85-90 most days and then towards the middle/end of summer it's usually in the upper 90's or low 100's.

The average winter day here is somewhere between 20-30 but we do get into the teens pretty often or even single digits sometimes, especially in the mornings.

  • I'm in Houston and it's hot and humid all summer, plus part of spring and fall.  If I had to guess an average, I'd say mid-90's for highs and low 80's at night...so it's never really cool.  And it's always humid so it feels warmer and our hair looks terrible.  This summer has been especially miserable, so thankfully, I've been able to spend most of it indoors.

I remember when I used to sell new homes, I would be showing a framed home with no roof yet and sweat would be just dripping down my entire body.

Oh, and our winters are very mild.

ETA: Just looked it up...I was fairly close on summers.  For winters, 40's-60's (avg low - avg high).

  • It's currently 96 with a 116 heat index, and humid as all get out. Basically, hell came to breakfast for the week - been like this the last week or so, but today's been the worst so far. It's supposed to dip down in the high 80's next weeks, but without a thunderstorm in the forecast, I don't see how that's possible.

Usually, July is high 80's, low 90's, then August blows in with the humidity and nasty temps. Fall and spring are fantastic, winter's usually icky, but we don't get as much snow as some other states. Last year's "snowpocolypse" was a rare occurrence - 10 inches of a mix of snow, sleet, and ice, so most of the city was called off for 2-3 days. Usually it stays somewhere between the high 20's to low 40's, and snows every once and a while (more in January).

  • Similar to Chelsie.

    Average high for today: 85F

Current temp: 99 F <we're close to record of 100F

    Feels like: 110 F

And I have to do a 6 mile run today.  Good think I kept my gym membership.  I did 3mi outside on Monday after work (high was 92F, index 100F ) and I seriously think I had slight heat exhaustion.  I went to bed at 8:40 (instead of usual 9:30/10) and was tired all day yesterday

  • New Orleans-- May- Sept we are in the high 90's with very high humidity.  It rains almost every afternoon in the summer.

Winter (Dec-Feb)- extremely mild- 40's- 60's.  God Bless it.

This, except in North Carolina. Winters are a bit cooler ranging from low 30s-40s, a lot colder in the mountains. We do usually get at least some snow, but never a huge amount, and the entire town freaks out and everything closes.

Just the same as here!  Except this summer when we are lucky to see rain.
