Veggie Gardeners

I'm getting swamped with stuff from our garden.  I just dumped a million yellow squash, a huge zucchini, and a ton of cucumbers on one of my neighbors.

Does anyone want to trade veggies or fruits with me?  I will be rolling in tomatoes and melons soon too.

I cant eat any more yellow squash.  Seriously.  I'll even give you the blossoms if you want to stuff and fry the squash blossoms.

I'm in Kensington !

Re: Veggie Gardeners

  • I am nowhere near you, but wow--my garden is such a slacker! We've got to get more sun on our plants.

  • I haven't done gardens for a couple years (even then we did container growing) but I'm really missing it right now reading this post!  Must.get.raised.beds.done.next.year....

Aw man my garden is slacking too! My yellow squash and zucchini are being attacked by squash bugs and I haven't gotten anything in weeks :(

  • We were lucky and didnt get squash bugs or cucumber ones.  I think we planted our peas a little late.  They are just now flowering so I'm not sure we'll get any actual peas this year

It's not too late to plant!  Carrots, beets, beans, swiss chard could all be started now.  We just have no room with the amount of vines we have already climbing outside of our boxes.

Maybe next year we can do a swap.  We planted most of our stuff on Mothers Day and it's worked out great.  I'm just starting to get bell peppers

  • We're not very close and I think we are abundantly producing the same crops (although substitute patty pan for yellow).  I do have quite a few spaghetti squash and onions, unfortunately the green beans have already slowed down.
