Another Poll: Work or SAH?

Based on a lurker's opinion of us being a bunch of SAH folks with too much time on our hands, do you work or SAH?

I think your blog is a full time job. I marvel at your ability to cook at this stuff, never mind document it.

Only a person without kids would assume that being a SAHM means you don't have anything to do. My kids demand constant attention, far more than any of my bosses ever did. Hmm

No doubt.  The second I look away they are doing something like drinking syrup from the bottle or dumping an entire bottle of Hershey's in the play kitchen pans.

I can see the picture. That's the only reason I know we are not talking about the exact same children.

  • Work FT out of the home here, hour drive each way.

Some days I have loads of time. Some days, like today, I have meetings all day long as well as trying to keep up with my regular work load and projects.

  • SAH... and we dont have kids yet but we have one on the way :)

Ive only been SAH since we moved to Houston a year ago before that I worked FT. And since we have been here this has been my second pregnancy, but the first ended in a missed m/c. Now I try to make sure that DH doesnt have too much to do in the evenings.... but the last month or so he has been doing everything as I keep overdoing it and even going to the shops with my belly and this heat is a struggle!

But before I got pregnant I did have quite a bit of time to spare... and got back into crafts that I never had time to do before.... although thinking about it Ive actually been pregnant for a lot of the time I have been in Houston! And I have no idea how I would have coped working and pregnant... although I know many do... Im just super exhausted the whole time. I guess Im so not used to the heat!!

  • I do both.  I have my own business and I'm a SAHM to a 2 and 3 year old.  I have 15 hours of child care a week.  I take care of the house, kids and my clients.  I haven't had free time since sometime in 2007....

     This!

I had WAAAAYYY more time to be online when I was working full time! Now my friends and family complain I'm never online, don't post pics or send out updates anymore. I just don't have the time to be on the computer much recreationally.

  • I own my own business and work a few days a week out the house--with a kid in tow. I don't have childcare of any sort, so no, I'm not lounging around eating bonbons. I'd like to be lounging around knitting, but have you ever tried knitting while a toddler is within 100 yards of you??

  • SAH with a toddler who is in.to.everything.  Too much time on my hands?  Hardly!  I just don't always make the most "productive" use of my "free" (aka, nap) time.
