I don't have anything, but what's the good news?
Re: AW Thursday
This is a little long, but a good early morning story, I think.
Some of you are friends with me on FB, so you would have already seen a snippet of this story... but seriously.
Last night, our dogs started barking like crazy. They usually only do that when something's out there, so Mack goes outside to check. There's a COW in our side yard! We live on a little over an acre, out in the country. We don't have CLOSE neighbors, but we're about a mile away from anyone with cattle. NO idea where it came from. Recently, a little up the highway from us, someone hit a horse on the road and was killed, and that's all that was running through Mack's head. So what does he do?
He grabs his AirSoft gun and a flashlight, calls the sheriff to ask for help, and chases the cow around for an hour and a half, over 2 miles, just to try to keep it out of the road until help got there. This is all at 3 a.m.
When the deputy finally does arrive, he questions Mack like he'd let the cow out and was chasing it for fun. Mack was furious. And then got to walk 2 miles home for his good deed, hot and sweaty and exhausted.
I'm a hard sleeper, so I heard about all of this when the baby woke us both up at 6:30 this morning. I asked him why he didn't wake me up for help, and he said, "Because you'd have just taken pictures of it!"
True story.
He's back asleep now... I'm proud that he at least cared enough to get out and do that! SO many people would have just ignored it!
Yay Mack for taking care of the cow! Although I am glad you got to sleep I kind of wish it would have been a story with pictures!
Tentative AW? - DH's boss asked DH to talk to me about the possibility of coming to work for their company. It seems I impressed him so much at dinner a few weeks ago, he has been thinking about asking me ever since. I would work from home and it would make things excellent for us when we (ever) have a baby as I could be at home and still have an income. This is exciting for me in that it means my money could still be fun money - I wasn't looking forward to being home all the time but not getting to do anything fun. I am not sure exactly when this might happen but as we still have at the very least 10 months until a baby shows up, I am cool with that.
T&P AW: There are a lot of crazy things going on in the peripherals of my life right now, one that is bad enough to keep me up at night worrying...so any kind of juju or good thoughts this way would be appreciated.
Ahhh, that's so funny! A cow! So, what happened to the cow?
Bahaha that was nice of Mack! ... seriously though, who lets a cow out on purpose to chase it??? I also kind of wish there were pictures.
Leslie - awesome! Sounds like a great opportunity, also T&P your way for the bad stuff. That's no fun.
I love the cow story!
We are having a garage sale this weekend and while I'm super happy to be getting rid of stuff and making a little extra cash, I don't want to do everything leading up to it! I went through our closets last night and I'm already over it!

You're on my prayer list, Leslie! I can attest that working from home when you have a baby is SUCH a gift. I had to work so much during Jack's babyhood that I kinda feel like I missed it. You gotta do what you gotta do, but opportunities like that are too hard to pass up!
And... we have no idea what happened to the cow. The deputy just came in a squad car, so unless he called for animal control with a trailer after Mack came back home, there's no telling where it is!
That's so nice that Mack cared enough to stay with the cow!
Leslie - that is awesome if you could work from home! Also sending you some good thoughts on the crazy in your life.
Bio Good Times
Chelsea - I would have LOVED to have seen pictures of that.
Leslie - Awesome!! And vibes.
Love the funny cow story!
Thoughts and prayers coming your way Leslie. We're all here if you need to talk about something off TN.
Good luck Brianna, hope you sell a ton of stuff!
I really can't wait to meet some of you ladies Saturday at BABC and volunteer for a great cause! I hope to make it a yearly event!
Leslie- Thinking about you!
(P.S. My Amazon delivery comes today! Expect some PM's for of panic!)
Yay! FB me any time.
Chelsea- I'm glad Mack let you sleep but I'm with the other girls that pictures would have been great. And also, who calls the sheriff to tell them they are running up and down the street with a cow for the fun of it?
Leslie- Awesome if the job works out for you. I'm already wishing I could stay home with new baby. If I don't work though we don't have insurance. I really wish DH would find a new job that gives spouses and children insurance without charging us an arm and a leg for coverage. I'll be working solely to pay insurance and daycare. I called daycares the other day just to get an idea of cost and the cheapest ones( and I'm not comfortable sending baby there) is $230/week for an infant. I'm a little bit of a daycare snob and I want to send baby to Primrose but they were $270/week and DH pretty much said no. Also sending vibes your way for the crazy side of your life!
Nothing to AW here. Actually it's been like a Monday for me. I want to crawl back into bed and start all over!
I was going to have a garage sale. I priced about 10 things, and then thought, even though I'm putting $3 on this shirt, someone will probably offer me $1 for it, and I'll take it just to be rid of it. So, I decided to donate everything instead, and take the tax write-off. (If you itemize, you get a deduction for the fair value of the items you're donating, so think of garage-sale prices, before someone talks you down.) I did an inventory of everything I'm donating, and they're coming to get it in 2 weeks - I don't even have to load it up and take it anywhere! Win-win situation, I think
My AW: I'm going to see HP tonight at Studio Movie Grill with a groupon - yay, cheap date night!
Angie - I love a good, cheap date.
Mandaroo - I can't wait to meet you!
Leslie - Sending vibes! Good luck with the great opportunity too!
Re: Cow situation: You know you're in Texas when...
Good luck this weekend Brianna!

BABC girls - I am meeting my friends at Cafe De Brazil for some pre-BABC breakfast. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome.
ETA: Cafe de Brazil - lol...must have Texas de Brazil on my mind. That would be just Cafe Brazil for Saturday morning.
Oooh, where and what time? I'd love to meet you if your friends don't mind. I can't wait for Saturday too--although I have no idea what to wear.

Just do it!
I would like to go too! Also, what type of footwear are you guys wearing?
Bio Good Times
Oh cool, thanks Leslie! Let us know where!
Stephie, yes what to wear?! I haven't the slightest idea either.
I know I am wearing flats. I was thinking of wearing a blue jean skirt with the T-shirt they will give us. Is that OK you think?

No AW today. I'm pretty much over this week.
Yes, definitely fine. I'm most likely wearing my tshirt from last year, jeans, and flats.
I will try to make breakfast... what time and which one?
I've already promised myself: If it doesn't sell, it's going to Goodwill!

I am bummed about not going! It's really a lot of fun.
Angela - if you're lurking, you're still welcome to go! They need the help.

Hi! Totally a lurker here but wanted to let you know I am currently fostering 2 stray dogs that are looking for a good home. We've taken them to the vet and have them started on shots/back to healthy weights. Email me if she might consider a stray. Not really sure what bread they are - they look like mini-labs...vet said they'll be 40-50lbs. lyndseynell@gmail.com
OK good, I was thinking flats too.

Do you think Tennis shoes would work?

I FB messaged the details to you all and threw in Lacey for good measure.
If anyone else wants the details, let me know! The more the merrier.
I was pretty upset last night because I thought I failed my practical that I was telling y'all about. I had talked to the ladies at my bench in lab and we got different results, after using the same bacteria. Well the TA didn't tell us if we got it right or not, and was making us wait until Monday. Well I emailed her, all distraught-like, and after a semi-lecture about how I need not get upset about things like this she said I got it right! Which means I got a 100 and my practice the day before wasn't all in vain! I'm so happy!
Kind of feel bad for the girls who sit across from me. But, oh well.
