the Getty...?

DH and I are trying to find a day to visit the Getty, since we havent been to either one yet! First of all, which one is better to start with? And also, is it an all day event, or something that can be done after work...say only be there for like 4hrs?  We're excited to go, but itll help us in planning when to do.  We both are really busy and sometimes its hard to find time to do these things.

Re: the Getty...?

  • I haven't been to the one in Malibu, but the one off the 405 is pretty cool. IMHO the art isn't that inspiring - there are some nice piece, but most of it is NMS. ?The grounds, the view and the architecture are amazing, though. Definitely worth the trip for the ambiance.

  • We have been to the Getty off the 405.  Ditto what manatee posted.  Definitely go!  IMO, it can be a 4 hr deal.  Have fun!
  • I definitely enjoy the gardens and view more than the art. I highly, highly recommend eating lunch at The Restaurant at The Getty----awesome food and the view is spectacular.
