Best sushi on the West side?

Any thoughts?  The first thing that came to mind was Waterfront but I'm always open to trying something new.

Re: Best sushi on the West side?

  • Samari (sp?) is really good (by Jordan Creek- DSW/BBB area).

My fav is Mayabi 9 downtown by far, but this is pretty close.

  • waterfront or wok in motion would be my west side recs. a lot of people like samurai but i got food poisoning from a spicy tuna roll, so i don't go there anymore.
  • We've been about everywhere and I have a hard time liking anything as well as Taki. We've always had such good service and sushi there. The one downtown is a close second but since you want a western one, Taki gets my vote.

    ...now I want sushi.  lol!

    I second Taki!

  • One of my best friends' sister lived in Japan for a few years, moving here about a year ago.  I asked her what sushi restaurants they liked - they liked the one by Drake and Miyabi 9.  I have never been to either.  We have always liked Taki and Mandarin.

  • I always forget there is a Taki right here on 86th!  Oooh and Appare is close too (although I've never had their sushi).

I only said West side because DH and I want to get takeout tonight and I don't want to hoof it too far :)

I've heard good things about Sakari on Ingersoll too, but again, I don't want to drive down there for takeout.

    I guess I'm hungry AND lazy ;)
