SFG - I'm confused about fall planting
According to the newsletters I am getting for my zone (maroon), I have passed the deadline for planting carrots, and this is the last week I can plant peas. It is HOT outside (90s), and the information listed under the chart says carrots do best in soil less than 80. Should I be planting cool-weather crops already?
I like salad bar, I like Despicable Me, tosh 2.0, I like Connect 4, Freedom of Speech, David Fincher, sidewalk, I like 1-800-SLIM, yo mama jokes, strawberry, Wilmer Valmavelma, Leon J. Panetta, ice skating for fun, not to save life. Cheese. Is for mouse. Are you Mick Mouse? WHY DON'T YOU GET IN YOUR SPACESHIP LIKE MICK MOUSE?

Re: SFG - I'm confused about fall planting
Ok...I'm in zone 6a, so not too different. Are you planning to plant seeds or transplants? I have never done fall crop transplants, but have done seeds. It is entirely possible you may need to plant now. Keep in mind that the soil temp is not the same as the air/weather temp.....so the soil now is not as hot as the air temp. That is why the fall is a great time to plant new grass and install shrubs/trees...the air is cooling, but the soil is still warm. Conversely, in the spring, the air temp is warming and the soil temp is lagging behind, but things begin growing when the temps reach the proper level.
You can ask at your local garden center and I am sure they can give you more region specific information about planting the fall crops!
GL! All I try to do in the fall is a nice crop of lettuce/greens!
