They took 1 month to call for interview...

What do you think? I have an interview at a law firm tomorrow. I sent them my resume exactly one month ago. When they called today they wanted me to come in today (which I was unable to) or to go in tomorrow (I am) or no later than Monday. The reason being they wanted to finish their interview by tomorrow.

I just find it odd that they had my resume for a month and called the day before they planned to finish interviews. My guess is that I was at the bottom of the list.

Also, the attorney I am interviewing with told me I didn't recall how he got my resume, I went through my list to find out when/how it was sent and whatnot.

maybe your resume somehow got misplaced until today or something, you never know why they waited a month to contact you last minute but the fact that you got an interview is great!   Lots of luck to you tomorrow!  let us know how it goes!

Who cares if you were at the "bottom" of their list?  Go into that interview and show them why you should have been at the top of their list? 

For the record, I do not find it odd that it took them a month to call you.

i rarely hear back within a week of applying, usually it's a few weeks or a month. i had an interview in late april for a job i applied for in mid-february. i had to go through my e-mail to even remember which job listing it was!

I would just chalk it up to someone dropping the ball. It sounds to me like the hire was supposed to be decided on by the end of July and maybe the person who was scheduling the interviews or the interviewer got tied up and now they're getting pressure from above to get it done.
