"It Must Be Love" by Don Williams
We tried to do Johnny Cash but none of his songs had the right tempo for a CW Polka and we did not want to dance to a slow song. We really wanted a fast 2step or polka. We both love DW and that song was the perfect tempo for the polka, even though circle turns were NOT easy in my big ole wedding dress!
Coldplay "Till Kingdom Come" It's a hidden track on their 3rd (?) album I think.
We wanted something a little less common and I couldn't sell him on anything country.
"Stand By Me" the Mickey Gilley version. J grew up in Pasadena, not far from Gilley's headquarters, and Mickey Gilley was a family favorite. I grew up listening to the Urban Cowboy sound track, dancing on my dad's feet. We both have always loved the song and thought it would be a perfect fit for the occasion.
Our runner-up was "I Believe In You" by Don Williams.
"I Wanna Grow Old With You" - Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer
DH doesn't dance and this song was very much us
an evening in roma by dean martin
it was dh's pick. he liked the melody and the lyrics and it went with our other music selections for the reception
when it came time to chose we couldn't pick anything special so we went with Al Green, let's stay together. Mostly because I was really into his older stuff when DH and I met and whenever he asked what I was doing it was "listenting to al green." we also didn't realize how long it was, DH is not a dancer so it was the sixth grade type go in a circle dance and it went on FOREVER.
I always wish I'd chosen Fools Rush In (can't help falling in love) by elvis (or even ub40!), it fits us perfectly.
I danced to In my Life by the beatles with my dad, that had more meaning then our song!
"At Last" by Etta James.
not very original, but it suited us (we were both relatively older than your average bride and groom), and well, I'm not very creative.
I kinda wanted "somebody" by depeche mode, but that's totally not my husband's style, so it wouldn't have been appropriate.
looks like it!
5/19/2001 for us
I think this is awesome!
Crazy Christmas Kids!
I (secretly) wanted this...but couldn't find it
"Everything" by Michael Buble
No real reason, we both liked it and it was simple, cute, not too long and not too slow, fit perfectly
DH needed something short, he had to lead the conga shortly after...
"When You Love Someone" by Bryan Adams
I can't listen to that song anymore, I cry if I hear it. I still thinks it's a beautiful song.
I remember Rob asking me if we could have chosen a longer song when we were dancing, because he hated people staring at him.
that was our song!
the story behind it is just that it had always been my favorite song and dh loved it too.
I walked down the aisle to that song
looooooove it
Our first dance was to Fly Me to the Moon - Tony Bennett version. We both just love the song, we had a Rat Pack thing going on...and Tony's the man.
"I'd Love to Lay You Down"- Daryle Singletary's version.
It was the first song we ever danced to on our first date in 2002. It was a surprise for DH on our wedding day. He was SO excited when it started playing.
Jack Johnson - Better Together
We both just love the song. His best friend actually sang it for us, and played the guitar.
