Happy Friday!

I'm so glad the weekend is almost here and that I get to leave a couple of hours early today.

You know the drill--what's your weekend look like?

After work I'm going ring shopping with my sister's boyfriend.  It's been a long time coming.  I think this will be the last (and eighth?) time I'll be a bridesmaid.

Tomorrow we're playing in a volleyball tournament.  Outdoors.  On asphalt.  I'm a little scared of passing out and melting into a steaming heap, but I already committed and I hate backing out on people.

No plans for Sunday right now.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: Happy Friday!

  • That's so exciting for your sister, Rock! Do you know what kind of ring she'll want?

My dad just called me and is having me go look at a house he's working on because he thinks I'll want it. (Not that exact house, but building a new one with the same plans).

DH is working until 1, then we're running a few errands. Tonight I'm doing girls night! We're going out for Mexican and drinks, no kids allowed! Smile

Tomorrow morning we're going to look at a house (although DH and my father are obviously all about new construction... I love the charm and character of older houses).

Sunday the IL's are having a cook out. The TRUE BLOOD in the evening.

Would it be weird to ask my dad to babysit on Saturday night so I could go see HP for the 2nd time? Probably. But I might ask anyway haha

Off to go look at the house now...

  • OMG Rock.  Your Sunday plan should be to hook yourself up to IV fluids after sweating all day Saturday.

LadyE, I'm sure your dad would love to hang out with his grandson!  I say you should ask.

My plans for the weekend are 100% beach.  My big debate is if I should go with a strapless top to get rid of my tan lines, or wear the one I like better and just deal with them.  Decisions, decisions....

  • Ring shopping--I'm so jealous! I'm a jewelry nut. Have fun! GL with the volleyball tournament. I don't envy you.

Tonight I'm feeding DH and sending him off to our old house to get the last of the stuff before the movers. Saturday I'm hanging out with DD and hopefully welcoming DH home, Sunday DD and I head down to the old house to oversee the movers for the week. And spend quality time with MIL :>/ I'd rather be ring shopping.

  • Rock - Early congrats to your sister!

LadyE - GL with the house stuff. The part I loved about new construction is being able to pick all the colors and finishes we liked.

BB - If you don't have to wear strapless for an important event, just wear the suit you like. I still have a scoop neckline tan from MEMORIAL DAY! I'm still trying to get rid of it for the wedding I'm in in September (strapless dress, of course).

Tomorrow was supposed to be my cousin's graduation party but her brother was involved in a baseball accident and can't be active right now so they cancelled it. I had offered to bring food or money for take out to see them, but they preferred not to have anyone over. Instead we're seeing HP with my parents and going out to dinner (in the nice, cool A/C).

She wants a halo setting. Which, funny enough, is really what I wanted when I first started ring shopping too.

I am still so jealous that you have so much DIY skill in your family!  So, so jealous! :)  Hope you love the house; be sure to report back!

The IV is probably an excellent idea.  As for the bathing suit, I say go with the strapless.  You can wear the one with straps a little later in the summer and lines won't be as obvious once you have a little color already.

I don't have to, but I really want to wear a strapless dress to a wedding next month.  I'm not in the bridal party or anything but I don't want to be that girl with the tan lines.  My sisters were cursing me for picking strapless bridesmaid dresses for a September wedding, haha.  One of them had a serious around the neck tan line from a burn she got over July 4 weekend.  She spent all of August getting rid of it.

    LOL, really?! Wink

Man, I don't know how you guys deal with all the running back and forth between here and your old house.  Sounds exhausting.

Just got back- and called DH so we'll swing by again later today after DH is out of work.

I love the house so so so much! It's still just at the studs, but having grown up around new construction, I know what it will look like finished.

Coincidentally, my realtor called as I was driving home and said the house we were going to see tomorrow was a short sale, so I told her nevermind.

Then we discussed getting my house ready to be on the market. She said if we decide to go new construction, she wants to list the house the first week of September because the market tends to have a little resurgence then.

    We'll see!

    Oh Rock, exciting!!

We are headed to Maine tomorrow morning for the weekend. I think we'll have a low-key night tonight-- but I am considering going to see HP at the theater too... tempting!

  • Oh and Rock, I love halo settings. I love engagement rings in general.

How do you like your future BIL?

  • LadyE, so exciting that you saw a house you like!  Would the next step be to find some land?

I like FBIL.  He's young, works hard, and is a good egg.  Most importantly he can apparently deal with my often ridiculous little sister Wink

Next step would be land. We *might* discuss selling the house and moving in with my father for a few months because it would make financing the whole thing so much easier (and he'll have an empty house when my little sister moves to college). My father is very laid back and easy to live with. I would never live with ILs or my mother, it would be ridiculous.

Is she the youngest? My two younger sisters are both wackadoodles, if I do say so myself haha

Yep, she's the baby of the family and IMO often still acts like one Wink  I love her but, yeah, she can push my buttons for sure.

  • Birthing class tomorrow which is an all day event!  Sunday I am hoping to get some work done around this house.
  • That's exciting about your sister, Rock!  I hope you have fun shopping!  And Camedown, have fun at birthing class! (If "fun" is the right word, anyway.)

We have nothing planned, really. Supposed to grab a Zipcar tomorrow to run some errands, and then just hanging out the rest of the weekend. I have a couple of Netflix that have been hanging around, so I want to watch those and send them back so I can cancel my account. (My husband has one as well, so we're just going to drop down to one joint account with the stupid price hike.)

  • Rock - so exciting for your sister! And fun for you to go ring shopping

LadyE - yay for finding something that you liked! Hopefuly your DH will like it as well and you can start making some house plans.

We don't have much planned this weekend. Tonight I'm hoping for some Chinese food and a Redbox movie. I've got some nasty canker sores on my tongue and they've been killing me for the past few days so I'm not really feeling up to doing much.

We are friends with a family who have a pool. They're going to be gone for the weekend but they said we can come over and use their pool tomorrow. So ya, finally I can get some tan action going.

Nothing planned for Sunday. Just church and normal errands.

  • Rock- early congrats to your sister!

I'm working this weekend so not doing anything exciting- maybe if I can get out early enough tomorrow we'll try to go to the farmer's market. I'm working 8 days straight so I'm already exhausted but we're going to FL for a long weekend next week!
