I mostly lurk on the bump and post on the Dec. 11 board.  Someone posted about a member who said they will put the backseat down and DH and their kid will play out of the carseat during long trips. A lot of people were pissed that she would let her child out of their car seat in the car, it is obviously dangerous.  Another poster searched out their personal info and called child protective services on them!!  While yes I agree that you should at all times have your child in a car seat, the fact that someone would go to that extreme to call CPS and to search out personal info really disturbs me.

Then another poster said that on a board she frequents someone posted a picture of someone's front door.  And not two people that were friends (get-togethers, etc.) it was like a creepy post.

Now I know why DH is not a fan of the knot/nest/bump!  After the wedding I pretty much stopped posting for a while and then decided to change my name to not include my last name, but I missed you ladies so I came back.  

All that drama was a good reminder though that this is a PUBLIC forum and there are crazies out there.

My DH feels the same way about here and FB.  That is so scary and why we all must think before we write!  Thanks for sharing.  Just another example of why we need to be aware of what we say and how people can sometimes be out to get you!  I don't think everyone is like that, don't get the wrong impression, but they are out there and can ruin it for everyone else.

A couple girls on my local board lurk on TB and linked to the car seat/CPS posts...I read thru them this morning and it was insane!! I don't know how much I'll be posting on TB once I'm pregnant - they are scary!!

Its really unfortunate that such extreme things are happening.  We were just discussing this on another board I am on recently and someone commented that if it weren't so anonymous she would be sorely tempted to report some things that posters confess to.  It always kind of shocks me because I don't post about very extreme instances, but it is a good reminder.
