My sister amazes me! (AW proud rave)
She is, as I type, auditioning for one of those American-Idol type singing shows. She drove all the way down to NJ to do this.
Now, I don't believe my sister has a snowball's chance in Hades (she acted in high school, while I was the singer-- in fact, she has never had any voice lessons and I know she does not have as strong a voice as she thinks, but I would NEVER tell her that), but how kick-arse are her ovaries that she has driven down to NJ at 35 years old (married, two kids, definitely over her "fighting weight") to compete with 20-something, thin-thin, trained singers!!
I would NEVER have the guts to do that!

THAT'S the one! I am so bad with these shows...
My sister's entire group failed to receive a call back and my sister said that there were some "PHENOMENAL singers" in her group. I can't imagine what you would need to do to get a callback, then, if being a fantastic singer isn't enough!
