My JoAnn Fabrics trip...

Last night my husband and I went into JoAnn's (we hadn't seen one another much this week, so he wanted to spend some time with me before he went to work) and two things happened:

1.  I purchased things without using a coupon--STUPID!  I got three dollar stamps and a quick cookbook for my husband.  My stamps are cute Halloween ones, though.

2.  I now know why people complain about their fabric cutting: a lady came in to try to return her fabric because it was cut 13 inches (yep, you read that right) short.  The store I was at couldn't take it back because it was not purchased there.  I felt so bad for her.

I'm kind of irritated with myself for shopping without the coupon, but it was kind of nice to finally find something there.

I bought several pieces of flannel from Joann's for blankets and weighing each piece the sizes are so variable. ( don't generally weigh my fabric but I couldn't remember which color where the longer pieces and didn't want to unfold them.). Sometimes I don't use a coupon. I don't like it but it's cheaper than taking the time and gas to make another trip.

Oh, that's too bad- this was the last day of their coupon crazy week where they have a CRAP load of coupons. I went yesterday and got at least 40% off every single thing, either through sales or 40% off coupons- and used a 20% off total purchase coupon on top of it (so, everything was at least 52% off, several clearance items were more than 80% off).

I never ever go without coupons or buy anything full price, since there are always coupons to use and sales change every other week or so. I've never been shorted fabric there, either- I've wasted years of my life waiting for the cutting ladies some days- but, they're been very accurate. They don't give me extra fabric like fabric.com does, though- I got used to their 40"+ yards.

I went to Joann today and caught the end of the coupon crazy sale.  I wish I'd found some notions I needed, but I just stuck with fabric.  Found some great corduroy and a very pretty lemon print.  I ended up saving $50 between sales and coupons.  The lady who cut my fabric did a good job today as best as I can tell.

With printable coupons on the internet and the coupon app for your phone (or in my case, DH's phone since I am a cheapie without a smart phone--gasp), I never leave home without a coupon!  As for fabric, I watch them cut and then literally cut to the inch.  A couple of times, I have caught and corrected their measurement before they cut, but it is when  I have been asking for different cuts on each bolt--so it is easy to get confused.

I was also going to suggest their mobile site or application if you have a smart phone. You can download coupons while in the store and use them! I went this past Sat, spent $25 and saved $114!
