for the Sara Needs A Long Arm Fund. Preferably in $1,000 increments.
Ok, I'm not sure if I bragged on this yet, but in the next town over, there is a lady that rents out her long arm, and it includes a class at the beginning of the day, and you get to go all day for $50. I had two small quilts (one baby quilt, one 48"x48" quilt), and I probably would have quilted them at home had I not wanted to try it out myself to possibly use in the future (like the king size master bedroom quilt I have in the works and the twin for DD), but holy cow, did I have FUN! I turned out two small quilts that would have cost me around $40 minimum each, in 5 hours of time, and I got to chat with this hilarious lady all day. I had a BLAST.
I need to bind them in a hurry, because they're being entered in the fair in 3 days, but I will do my best to have pictures up for you ladies by next week. ![]()
Re: Now taking donations...
Holy cow! It was $50/day, period! This is also rural Nebraska, though, so they simply can't charge a whole lot.
And I'm totally thinking of things I can do without to get a long arm...car? No prob!

Dang, that's a good rental price!
I actually have one available for my use (hello, my Mom's!), but she's usually too busy working on customers' quilts to leave any free time for me. She has thought about the rental idea, but is mostly worried that someone would mess up the machine. And since my parents live off her business, that would just not be acceptable.
