Palin on SNL

I thought she was a good sport and did a good job.

Re: Palin on SNL

  • She did fine with what they gave her, but I thought it was kind of a wasted opportunity for SNL. ?They could have written her something funny that the McCain campaign would have gone for (I think her playing Tiny Fey would have been ideal) but they chose not to. ?Fear that a funny Palin would be a likeable Palin? ?Maybe. ?But I think no matter what it makes the SNL writers look pretty weak.

  • I thought it was great, and I actually thought she was really endearing. That's saying a lot coming from me. I loved watching her dance as Amy Poehler was going nuts behind her, shooting the moose (funniest.thing.ever.) and dancing around with her giant belly.

  • I agree that I found her to be endearing (but really, how could you not? she had a very minor, cute role). But I am happy to hear that (some) conservatives are displeased. I thought MPC fans would be tickled pink.
  • I'm totally nonplussed. ?Why bother going on when she did like nothing?

  • I only caught the last half of the open last night--which was lame--so my first thought was that it was forgettable.

But now, watching the rap, I thought she was great. I was laughing the entire time and watching her dance was good.

I think it would've been great to see her on screen with Fey, but I didn't think it was terrible or incredibly fabulous.

It was enough to get her on there, have her have a little bit of fun and not do anything that would embarrass the campaign.

I think I read somewhere she was originally supposed to do the rap herself? I can see why she'd shy away from that (though if she HAD done it, I am pretty sure she would have been killer funny!)

  • I LOVED the rap!!! it was so funny but I don't think this visit did anything to help the McCain/Palin ticket. I actually found her to be boring. It was pretty pointless in my opinion.

That's an interesting perspective. I saw it as her being lame, but maybe you're right, maybe it was the writers. Who knows!
