Border's is going out of business, so DH and I stopped in today.  All the books are 10% off...I got a beginning quilting book but they had a TON of craft books.  Also, all the magazines are 40% off...there were lots of craft magazines as well.  I'm sure as the sale goes on, things will be more deeply discounted.

10% off would barely cover tax, here! Amazon is generally much, much cheaper than cover price on most of my books, but, you're right- they should get cheaper (and unfortunately, messier) as time goes on. Sad, though- I hate to see another nice company go under, even it it's not unexpected.

Our closest one is in DE so no tax.  It is sad but I guess Amazon pushed them out of business due to better pricing.

I was so bummed when our Borders closed. It was my favorite place to just shop and meet friends for coffee. I'm really going to miss the kids activities as well. My Niece loved the coco and story kids day.  On a shopping note wait the stuff will be 60% to 80% off in a month. Got some killer deals on make your cookbooks and scrapbook baby kits. I have a ton in the closet. Make awesome gifts!

The salesperson at my store said they will be marking things down further each week.  It sounds like they'll be pretty much all gone by Sept.
