2 Years after Taconic Crash...

Is anyone going to watch the documentary?

Also has anyone read the recent article about the SIL being pregnant now after losing her 3 daughters in the crash?  I had also heard she had had her tubes tied so its even more of a miracle she is pregnant.

I am going to watch, because I have been intrigued by the whole case from the beginning.  I feel bad for all the innocent people who lost their lives and the people directly affected by it.

  • I know nothing about the documentary! I would be interested in seeing it, even though the case upset me so much. When is it on, and on what channel?

I plan on watching.  Last Monday they had a documentary called Mann vs. Ford about the old Mahwah Ford plant and all their dumping in the 60s-70s primarily in the Ringwood area.  It was really interesting so I look forward to this one too.
  • For once I am glad I don't have HBO. When I heard it was from the Husband's POV, I wanted to vomit.

In case you can't guess, I still have very strong feelings about that woman and what she did.

  • i will try to catch it...

  • I just read the article yesterday. It was in the Ladies Home Journal written by the SIL. It was so sad to read. She is still greiving so much. She did have her tubes tied and then did in vitro and got pregnant on their first try. In the article she talks about the HBO special and how it is called, "Something's wrong with Aunt Diane." She is upset by the title since it was the last thing she heard her daughter say before she was killed. I won't be watching since it is from the viewpoint of the husband.

This makes me feel physically ill.  How awful to have those words used to sensationalize the story.

  • I read the article and I could not make it through. I don't want to know the husbands view point. I feel so bad that this happened. It makes me so scared when I let my son go with someone. I can't imagine....

I don't think I will watch.  Yesterday was the five year anniversary of my nephew's death (he died at 2 1/2).  I cannot put myself through something like that again...hearing those stories, thinking of those children.  Seeing him in the hospital was the worst thing I have ever experienced and it makes me sick that they have made a documentary on it.

  • I can't imagine being one of the responders.. I was first on scene July 4th 08 to a horrific flipped car on Saw Mill after dropping Dh at his first day at fire house.  I got held up for hours and watched the poor boy die in front of me on my bath towel while his siblings were in horrific shape too.  The images have never left me, and every time I pass the scene I remember it too.  Drunk driving at 4pm was the cause.

I am not a fan of the husband but I am curious to see how he will try to paint his wife as an angel.

  • I'm glad I don't have HBO but even if I did I wouldn't watch that.  In my family we have little respect for those who drink and drive.  I think I would get sick watching a husband trying to paint his wife in some sort of victim didn't mean to do it/something was wrong.

  • Have any of you heard the rumor that her husband was having an affair with the sister in law and she found out?  I heard that is what sent her into a revenge rage.  That is just a rumor that was going around.

Two of my friends were the first responders (Hawthone VFD).   THEY STILL have nightmares.
