Re: good monday morning!
Good Morning!
Friday- I found out some sad news. When we moved to FL almost 4 years ago we moved with a friend the 3 of us lived together for about a year and a half. We always refered to Guy became part of our family since we all moved down here together and had no blood family. Well Friday Greg calls to tell me he is moving back to Mass. He got a really good job offer and now hw is moving in 2 weeks.
Saturday- we workled during the day. Then we went to our friends house who wife is due the week before me. We hung out I played with 2 week old puppies. They have grown so much since last week.
Sunday- We had such a great day. We deep cleaned the house and then I decided we should rearrange our living room. After that we went to lunch. Went to a friends house for a little bit. We were suppose to go get ice cream but we decided we wanted Chinese food and we would get ice cream later. Went home Greg fell alseep, I never got ice cream
Hopfully tonight I can get ice cream.
We almost bought a washer and dryer but the place was closed. Stupid stores closing early on Sunday. So maybe we will go do that tonight.
Back at work today and waiting for next weekend
Gooooood morning. I am also exhausted. And totally on board with the 3-day weekend business.
We had a pretty good weekend. I drank like I haven't since I was about 23. Friday, K had to work a bit late, so I hit HH with some co-workers. K met us when he was done at work, and we ended up BSing and drinking with everyone til about 11:00. I woke up surprisingly not hung over on Saturday, cleaned the house a bit while K worked. Then we went out with friends on Saturday to dinner and bowling. It goes without saying that you can't bowl without drinking, so I consumed a pretty good share of Coors Lite on Saturday. Woke up yesterday feeling pretty good. Not sure how that happened, but I was pretty proud of myself for drinking two nights in a row and still being functional. :-)
Yesterday we grilled out - chicken skewers with fiesta lime sauce. And I made some cous cous. Yummy! I had a little self control yesterday, so I get leftovers for lunch today. Hooray!
hey all!
I need another day to rest!!! I was so tired yesterday but for some reason couldn't nap. Not happy about that!
We had Step SIL's wedding this weekend. Thanks to the disfunctional family of J's step mother, it was an interesting weekend. But as long and Step SIL had the day she wanted, that's all that matters right?
Friday, started looking into daycare. We aren't due till January and already on 2 waitlists. I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting adventure.
Can it be 4:30?!?!?!
Good morning everyone!!!!
We're back from Mexico, and missing it already. It's super hot here in MD, although apparently it was much worse before we got back. It's really tough getting back into the groove of things at home and at work! I have to scrub the bathroom clean and then call maintenance, because our bathroom ceiling is covered in mold, the paint is peeling, and one of the shower knobs is coming off. A nice 'welcome back' from our apartment.
Good morning. H and I had a nice weekend. Just tried to keep cool and finally got alot of chores and stuff done around the house yesterday when the heat finally let up.
Went to buy our airplane tickets for Puerto Rico last night (which H has been dragging his feet about) and discovered that after H's reward points, we got both tickets for free! Happy, happy.
Devastated to hear that Amy Winehouse passed away. I love her voice and her music, and have always thought she was an incredible talent. It is heart wrenching to have witnessed her downward spiral. Addiction is, to me, one of the most terrifying diseases.
Happy that as of today, the NFL lock-out seems to be finally over. I just want to say that I am disgusted with the obvious displays of greed by both the players and owners. However, I am a huge hypocrite and will be glued to the t.v. watching my Patriots play as always.
Other than that, this could shape up to be a very interesting week for me. Updates to come!
Gutentag frauleins. Sign me up for three day weekends too. I had a four day weekend last week, and it was awesome. Three day weekend coming up for me again this weekend.
Congrats on -3 Shauni!
I was at the shore from Wednesday night to Sunday morning. Good: facetime with inlaws so they can shut up, nice little tan, read 2.5 books, daily outdoor showers, frolicked with the dogs at sunrise on the beach, had a great dinner with my man at our favorite shore restaurant, fresh jersey corn/tomatoes/peaches. Bad: still blazing hot even at the shore, greenhead fly bites, it was so hot we couldn't take our dogs all over like we normally do, being shut up in a tiny shore shack for all that time with my inlaws since the air had to be on, everything I own took (including my dogs) smells like smoke, crappy sleeping conditions.
Monday. Here we go.
Laura - I'd be bitter and complaining about the unexpected expense even though I just spent $$ on my vacation too. Don't feel bad. We also came home to house issues even though we were only gone for four days. Grrrr. Hope you had a blast in Mexico.
Xtine - sorry your friend is moving back north, but good for him and his new job!
Hi yoooooo everyone else.
I think our apartment punishes us for leaving - maybe your house does the same? We did have a blast, I don't meant to sound all negative!
And thanks for making me feel less jerky. I know it's totally my mom's right to have a super-short engagement, and I would never complain to her about it because it's HER wedding after all, but it's really not convenient.
Friday was awesome. My boss left to work offsite halfway thru the day. A coworker brought in eggs to see if they'd cook on the sidewalk. She *really* wanted it to work, so some other coworkers and I bought a cooked egg from a diner and swapped it with one she left on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, the original coworker happened to be looking out the window to check on the egg at that EXACT moment. She believed it for a split second and still feels punked. We got a ton of laughs out of it.
Saturday was mostly us avoiding roasting in the heat.
Sunday we saw Capt America. I canNOT wait for Avengers next year!
I'm actually off all week - no plans, just had nothing at work and didn't feel like dealing with my boss. DH is working from home today because it's his last chance before his promotion. Today I will be cooking and baking. Which necessitates a run to the store since I forgot some items I will be needing.
Pretty decent weekend here. Friday night we cooked out on the grill and then vegged in front of the DVR. Saturday K worked on the truck while I made jello shots and putzed around with Baby Q. Saturday night was a Sweet 16 party for a friend of K's family. After the youngins left, the adults started hitting the Jello shots & Jungle Juice. We finally made it home around 2 am...needless to say a Sunday afternoon nap was in order.
Today is going to be sucktastic. So far this morning I spent about an hour on the phone with our insurance company and pediatrician since we keep getting bills for what should be covered by insurance. Next on my list is the state dept of revenue who sent me a bill (including penalties & interest) for our taxes...already found the cancelled check that they processed. Why are people so dumb?
Thanks, I know its great for him and the company also has a branch here in tampa and sarasota. His plan is to apply for a transfer when an opening comes up.
Selfishly I'm sad for Brooke he will most likely (if we do godparents) be her godfather. Now won't be as big apart of her life as I thought. I'm super glad for him hell we would move back to the cold for $15,000 more a year,
All of this I will be a huge hypocrite right there with you. If we were having a boy he probably would have come home from the hospital in a Pats outfit since it will be football season. Brooke might also especially if she comes home on a Sunday
Friday night I was on my way into work when we got some bad news. One of the local business owners passed away suddenly. I have known him since I was sixteen and he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. His sons went to my high school and were just a bit older than me. I am just in shock. He apparently had a heart attack and he was an extremely active individual. It kind of bummed out the rest of the weekend.
Saturday DH and I had a nice dinner complete with dessert and wine. It was nice to have some quiet time.
We leave for vacation Thursday or Friday (depending on when the funeral is). Cannot wait!
Ugh. That blows, Susie. Isn't it awesome when you have to do someone else's job for them because they're incompetent?? Sounds like you may need a mid-morning cocktail to keep you sane. :-)
Im excited to be at work. I need my crazy clients to keep my mind off of things, apparently they are good for something!
Friday my inlaws showed up, Saturday we had my nieces 1st bday party. I got to hang with her peachy arse for 5 hours! Woohoo! I almost ran away. Saturday night we went to dinner with my parents and then back to our house for a couple drinks with both sets of parents. Yesterday we did nothing besides hit up Target, return a shirt to the mall and get Taco Bell.
I have a test tomorrow. I already know Im failing, why the hell can't studying and test taking be as easy for me now as it was in high school?
Susie - F that. I am currently fighting a COLLECTION agency that my doctor's office put me in - without sending me ONE bill - for services that should be covered under my insurance. To say I am in a hot rage is a complete understatement. HATE! Good luck to you in your bureaucratic battles.
I also do not give a rat's patoot about the NFL or their lockout. They make too much money for owning a team or playing a game while in cities across America teachers, police and firemen have to fight for their jobs. It disgusts me. Completely over the outrageous salaries of many professional athletes.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Hello Monday. You are not welcome. Sounds like almost everyone had fun/relaxing weekends. You can add me to the list.
Friday night the hubs and I (and a another friend) went to the downtown car show and a late dinner out. H had to work Saturday and I basically just hung around the house all day. H came home around 7ish and we took the niece and nephew for rides on the quad. Fun fun. Sunday was hang out with hubs day (we took a nap on the couch and made fajitas for dinner.
Not too sure what is on tap for today except a follow up call on a resume I dropped off last Thursday. Surely some housecleaning and other random things will be on the list as well.
Morning! I'm jumping on the tired bandwagon. I did so well with not drinking caffeine for months, but these days I need a little every morning. I stopped at Starbucks on the way in for a venti iced tea, which I'll nurse all day. But boo, it hasn't kicked in yet!
Had company this weekend Friday night - Sunday morning. Boys went river rafting Saturday, but we couldn't go because they don't allow preggos and the friend's wife just had surgery. So the ladies went for mani/pedis instead, which was great. We met the boys with a picnic lunch, then they lazed around while I cooked all afternoon. Dinner at home, then to see Horrible Bosses. I literally snorted at the part where Motherf'er Jones tells why he was in prison. Too funny.
Yesterday we left the house early and got registries started at Babies 'r Us, Pottery Barn Kids, and Goore's (local baby store). Picked out bedding, stroller, and all kinds of stuff, which feels great. Ordered a mobile and window valance from PBK online last night because it's on closeout sale. Weird, that stuff is on closeout, while the bedding is going up in price. Harumph.
Shauni - good job, lady! Keep up the hard work!
LauraT - my H and my male BFF both feel strongly that 2nd (or 2nd +) weddings don't get gifts! I'd say your presence is your present and get them a heartfelt card. Of course, I *say* that, but who knows what I'd end up doing if I were in your shoes.
Moleson - you are so on top of things! I've only called 1 daycare, and they said we'd need to get on the waiting list around January, given our timeframe for when we think Predator would start (around May). I have 2 others I want to call, and then visit them all, but damn, that takes time.
Steph - yay, you survived a weekend with the ILs!
Steph - That sucks about collections cuz they are M-F'ers to deal with. Worst part about this situation is the ped has a policy if you have a balance due over $100 they won't administer immunizations. So my child has to suffer b/c they screwed up. I don't think so. Meet Mama Bear. She ain't happy to see you.
And I can't say I don't care about the NFL lockout b/c I enjoy me some foozball. But I do think it's lame that these millionaires are bitching like babies over sharing the bazillions that will come in over the course of the contract when people are out of work and can't afford to feed their families. And they have no shame for it either.
Ditto Jessie on waiting lists. Right now just hoping & praying that this DCC works out for us b/c it is so close to K's work. The other place I liked doesn't have any openings til December...
And I'm frustrated b/c AF is on no kind of predictable schedule here. Even though we're being careful, I don't need the stress of worrying about being KU again at this point. Only time in my life I'll probably be wishing for her to make an appearance.
Lol, Susie! I don't think I'd want to face Mama Bear!
On football, yes, it is a bit ridiculous to picture these multi-millionaires like Tom Brady crying into their Wheaties (with their picture on the box, natch) about $$, but the reality is that the vast majority of these guys don't make that much at all, especially when you consider how physical the job is. If we're mocking anyone in this situation, I mock the owners; they're the ones I thought were being greedy with this. But that's my opinion, of course.
Also, Susie, I hope AF shows for you soon! Ugh, I'm not looking forward to dealing with that. H thinks I should just get back on the pill after Predator is born, but I'd rather avoid the hormones, if I can.
I'm totally late on this post, sorry. Go Shauni!! 3 lbs! You have definitely inspired me on numerous accounts to keep running.
I just finished a 10k with my PB! 54:16. Still slow, I know, but I did it!
I'm already done with this week and I've only been at work for three hours. How'd that happen?
This is all that matters! You PR'd and you finished! That's all I want to do when I race is just finish without walking and puking. Small goals but I feel great when I accomplish them!
Uh, that's not slow. I proudly finish my 10K's in about 60 minutes. You are FAST!
