Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Bookclub ladies!
Reminder that the meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 6:00 at Panera Southfield location.
I just had to change my attendance to 'not coming'. My husband was just informed this morning he has to go out of town tomorrow for the remainder of the week. Which means no child care.

If someone could discuss how we want to schedule the meetings- My suggestion is to do every 4th Wednesday of the month. We rotate who posts polls for the books we read and who chooses where we meet. I've already posted the poll for August- Little Bee was the winner. Which seems to be difficult to get from the library 
Someone (2 someones?), please volunteer to post a poll for September and October books and arrange the event dates?? This way we'll be able to read ahead if we want to. Everyone should be able to do have the ability to do this. If you don't, I'll have to have you switched to moderator. Some people weren't able to be added as one when I went through initially for some reason (I don't remember why).

I know I am sounding whiney, but can we choose different days of the week each month? I really want to participate in the book club, but Wednesdays do not work for me. I don't expect anyone to change anything for one person, but the last time I checked there were a few of us that couldn't do Wednesdays.
I know it will suck to do different polls each month, but maybe just have a standing last week of the month for bookclub and then we vote on a day?
If Wednesdays work for everyone that's fine. I will just deal with it.
Whatever people want to do is fine with me! I was just going on how a bookclub I was in back home used to run and it seemed like it was easiest for everyone to do a set day, but I'm up for switching it up.
I'd like to at least plan the book a few months ahead. I know I'd like to read ahead if I finish a book early (like with The Chosen One, I've read 2 books since that book)

We can keep it Wednesdays if that is what works for everyone; I just won't be able to make it to the 'meetings.' I am enjoying the books we are choosing, though!!
How many of us are actually participating? I feel like with everything else on this board people vote for the sake of voting and have no plans on joining!
I noticed that too. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but it looks like only about half of the people in the group are even voting on things like choosing the books and meetings. More than half haven't even responded if they're coming to the GTG tomorrow or not. I'm not sure why that is.....maybe they don't have it set up to notify them via email when stuff is posted in the group? Maybe a notification emails needs to be sent to everyone to see if they are even still interested in participating.
I'll go ahead and start a poll for the August meeting date and I'll select a location. Someone else can plan the September one, and we can rotate each month.
Also, I posted the August book on the page.
I can't do Wednesdays until the end of August. I'll most likely start participating then depending on my work schedule. I still don't know what they are doing for scheduling in the fall. I'm in limbo!
