I just read your post in the MMPP section. I'm sorry you have to deal with all this, but I hope I can help you out a bit.
My boss just passed away last week and her funeral was held at the Nie Family Funeral Home. It was absolutely beautiful. They did a wonderful job. The one that we were at was located on Liberty, but out past Wagner, so definitely outside of the down town area (but not too far). I believe there is a location on the East side of town, as well. Luckily (or not), the funeral director and Mass were pre-planned, both will take place in Northville. I did talk to Nie on W. Liberty a few months ago when I needed to corroborate some information. They were very helpful and gracious. I have attended services at their Carpenter Rd. location in the past. Thanks for the tip though, it is always useful for people to know these things "just in case", as so often we are in no condition to shop when we need it.
The cemetery is in Ann Arbor, hence my search for a luncheon place there. I've gotten several good suggestions on this board and elsewhere.
