Bachelorette party help!

I just found out the MOH is not planning anything for a bachelorette party for a wedding I'm in in 3 weeks. I need to come up with something quick and easy for three girls in their late 20's and early 30's. Nothing too wild, but still fun (dinner/drinks?) Someone suggested Darcelle's to me, but I've never been then so I have no idea if that'll be fun or appropriate. Please help!

Re: Bachelorette party help!

  • I once had to plan a bachelorette party in a few days.  We went bar hopping and stayed the night in a hotel (dancing and the hotel were the most fun).  I can't recommend any bars, because I havn't been to many here.
  • Darcelle?s is a popular spot for Bachelorette parties. I haven?t been there myself, though. People seem to like it.

    Other not-so-wild ideas:
    Wine tour and lunch
    Brunch
    Old school slumber party
Happy hour at Portland City Grill
    High Tea the Benson

  • I've never been to Darcelle's, so I can't speak about that.

But, I loved the PPs idea of a wine tour (or a brewery tour if you're more in to that).  I did a wine tour with girlfriends the day before my wedding, and it was amazing.

I'd do that during the afternoon and then go to the HH at Portland City Grill.

I second that! LOVE these ideas!

  • I think it'd be fun to go to Comedy Sportz, and it's close enough to NW 23rd that you could do dinner beforehand.  Saint Cupcake is really close too.  If you called and told them why you were coming, I bet CS would work it into the show somehow that night.
  • Thanks for the ideas, ladies!

Love the wine tour idea. Unfortunately, the MOH lives 6 hours away and will be driving in the day of the party, so an afternoon affair is out.

  • I would recommend a restaurant that is called the NOBLE ROT. I heard they have a fantastic view and if you make a reservation after 5pm I bet you can sit outside on the top terrace and have some amazing food.

I have never been to Darcelle's either, but I have been outside, and it looks kind of dirty and dingy.

I would say if you want to do something with everyone, except the one that is driving during the day, there are a lot of great Spa schools and you could get a;; the girls a pedicure or manicure at Aveda Salon school. Look online for prices or details.

Drinks like beer or a brewery, I would say go to Hopworks Brewery, or if you are more into fluffy drinks go to a martini bar downtown. Portland is great for finding little things to run into.

m/c on Dec. 30th 5w 5 days We will try and try again until we succeed. i love you.
  • Restaurants and bars can be fun. Darcelle's is quite a hoot if you want a show, but leaves little room for interaction with your friends. My suggestion is http://www.cabanaboypdx.com . Have a private party that is classy and tasteful, while also being a bit outrageous. A cabana boy will serve cocktails and offer lavish treatment within respectful parameters, such as light tickles with a feather while you enjoy conversation and also foot baths for all the ladies. Additionally, an assortment of games will be offered to keep the energy of the party moving.
