When (if ever) do you take off your wedding/engagement ring?
Re: QOTD - 7.26.2011
I usually take them off to sleep and don't put them back on until after I've showered in the morning.
When L purchased my rings, the diamond he wanted was set as a solitaire in a plain gold band. The jeweler gave him that gold band and we had it soldered closed. I use this thin, basic gold band if I'm doing something hands-on like inventory at work or if I'm in a situation where I don't want to wear "flashy" jewelry.
I usually take them off right when I get home and put them on my ring holder. I've always done that. I don't like wearing them when I workout, cook or clean, and I'm usually doing one of those 3 things when I get home from work.
Only when putting lotion on, otherwise they are always on.
I have removed them for painting before too.
Me too. I also take them off when I'm doing things like cleaning, washing the dishes, and gardening.
Showering and I leave them off till I've done my hair.
If I'm making something that I need to mix with my hands. Like meatloaf, or chicken dipped in something. My e-ring has a gap below the stone and I'd rather not get gunk stuck in there.
My Profile
- When I play softball
- When I do dishes*
*Very rarely do I take my rings off.
It doesn't feel like relaxing with a bunch of jewelry on. I take off my rings, watch and Pandora bracelet when I get home. If I'm just staying home, I don't put anything back on either.
I would *for sure* lose my rings if I took them off often.
This. I've had bad luck with jewelry before and was scared to even get an egagement ring. I take it off for eally messy stuff and then I usually forgot to put it back for 1-3 days.
A related story, when I went to the hospital to have Amelia, I realized when I got there that I forgot to take off my ring and I had to have a c-section so I had to take it off. I didn't want Brian putting it in his pocket, so we had security come up to bring it to their security deposit box. The nurse was checking me out, when the guard just about walked in the room.
Luckily everyone yelled out "WAIT", so Brian ran out there to give him the ring.
Usually when I take a shower or if I know I'l be doing a lot of cooking for a longer period of time.
R I know takes his off when he takes a shower and then also when swimming or biking. His ring is looser than mine so he is afraid that it might fall off while in the pool or on the trail.
This. And in beach and swimming situations.
I am a day late...but:
Never. I did have to take it off for the last month or so of my pregnancy since it was about to cut off circulation. It felt very weird!
