I had an interview last Tuesday and when I asked about their follow up procedure and when I should hear something back, I didn't get a clear answer really. "We're still screening candidates" is what I was told.
I sent my thank you notes and I'm thinking of writing a follow up email today. Is that too soon? Should I wait til the end this week? I really want this job so I am nervous and want to make sure I don't do anything to sabotage my chances.
This is what I have written, would someone please critic it? and I'm putting "follow up to interview" as subject line, is that okay?
Dear Mr.
I hope this message finds you well! I just wanted to email and thank you and your team again for taking the time and talking with me last Tuesday. I am very interested and excited about the x Position as I think that this opportunity is an excellent fit with my background and skills and based on my conversation with you and your team, I believe that I will fit right in with the culture of your group.
Please let me know if I could provide you with any additional information about my background and goals. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Re: help with following up after an interview
Give it another week. And holy run-on sentence, Batman.
I'd call next week and say you're following up. And that you'd like to know if there's any timeline for hiring.
