One-day alone-time vacation

Hey folks!  I don't know if anyone remembers me, but I've been in and out over the past few years.  It's just been so busy!  But, since you girls always give the best advice, I'm back!  Hopefully this will be a fun discussion for you, too.

Let's say you were crazy busy working two jobs, and you're really feeling burnt out with no end in sight, but you have one free Saturday coming up, and you want to make the most of it.  But, the hubby is out of town, so you're going alone.  What would be your idea of the ultimate one-day alone-time vacation? Is there a beach or museum you'd spend the day at?  Or do you have a favorite spa that you'd go to?  Names and locations of your recommendations are encouraged!!  Thanks!

  • I don't know what area you are in, but if I was looking to make the most of my one free day from working 2 jobs I would spend it at my favorite spa - Tranquility Spa in Scarsdale.  I always forget about everything when I'm there.

  • I'm not too far from White Plains, so Scarsdale would be close!  Thanks!  Looks lovely!
  • I'd go to Cold Spring to walk around the town.  If I was really feeling good I love New Hope, PA.

  • We spent a few hours at Sherwood Island State Park/Beach last summer on the way to Mystic in CT and really enjoyed it. It was mid week and int he morning and empty - don't know what a Saturday would be like in the summer. But I would love to bring a book and some good food and hang out near the water.

I also love a good spa. A massage and facial or pedicure would be a welcome retreat and time alone.

I'd even enjoy a day walking around Woodbury Commons by myself. I haven't done that in years...but again,. Saturdays there might be crazy crowded and that is not enjoyable.

  • I would definatly do a spa day! Massage, facial....the works.
