5 year anniv trip ideas?

I am planning a little getaway with my husband for our 5  year anniv. Where would you go 3- 4 hours away from Albany area? TIA! :)

Re: 5 year anniv trip ideas?

  • Cape Cod is about that far away.  I love the ocean there.
  • We went to the Poconos earlier this summer...I'm not sure what kind of travelers you guys are but we had fun- the decor was kitchy and I dont think the resort has changed since the 70s but it was all adult- all inclusive (except alcohol) and they had decent activities...

we really loved out 7 ft champagne jacuzzi and in-room heart shaped tub...

  • Boston-lots of historical things to see there. catch a game at Fenway Park, see the Aquarium...

NYC- tons to do there- see a Braodway play, there are tons of museums (even the Museum of Sex, which I've never been to but DH and I would like to go together), picnic in Central Park...

  • When is your anniversary?  (Summer/fall?)

Are you just looking to relax, or are you more active?

I love VT, some places like Killington off season are great, very quiet and relaxing, but lots of outdoor stuff to do and if it is in the fall take a gondola and see the foliage.

I haven't been to Niagara Falls in years, but I like the American side.

  • If you have passports, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is really gorgeous.  They have a restaurant at the top of this space needle looking thing (can't remember the name for the life of me).... with a spectacular view... very romantic.

I'm a big fan of the Finger Lakes, but that's pretty close to home.

Boston and NYC are always really neat, lots of stuff to do.

When is it?  If it's not too far away, Maine is really gorgeous this time of year.
